The same thing happened to me. I've installed the game fine, but when I try to start it, it just goes blank screen. At first I thought it maybe because of the unicode things. But my computer already set to japanese setting and it still give me the damn blank screen...

1. are you sure your non-unicode/locale settings are set on Japanese?
2. are you sure you switched to disc 2 and finished the installation correctly? you should have an error msg when trying to run the game if installation failed
3. I'm not very sure about this point, but you [u]probably[u/] need some kind of codec to get the animation to work. I'm using CCCP newest version, real alternative and quicktime alternative (which should be able to play any kind of video already)
4. If your PC is ancient, it may not be able to take the workload to have the game in animation. Usually the game will try to automatically detect settings based on your system information. If your error is even before this option came out, then your installation may be failed. the option starts with these 2 kanji: 自動... and followed by some other numbers of kanji I can't remember.

and for those asking about win7, I'm running this and some other OLE-M and GJ games on win7 just fine

1. yes because I could play other games perfectly fine

2. yes i already change to disc 2 and changed back to disc 1 to finished the installation
and there is no error msg when starting the game. just the game window showed up and then just black screen that's all.

I'm using K-Lite, it's really weird that I can play movies, animes, all other games, and even the previous OLE-M games. They all worked fine using my current k-lite version so far... But not this one. I've even try to update to the latest k-lite, and even start using cccp and it still won't start. I'm pretty sure I already installed and set my non-unicode/locale setting to Japanese...

Though I'm not sure right now, but I'm starting to think that this maybe have something to do with the font used in this game... highly unlike it though, since I could play other game that using different font perfectly fine...
