People at Dreamworks must be on crack... Why do they need to illustrate such a crappy picture out of scratch when there are already more than several poster art by Production I.G.?
"Innocense" got a grand treatment when it was released on DVD's in Japan. But in the U.S., it gets a grotesque DVD cover that makes Peter Chung's drawings look like Claude Monet.

You're absolutely right. That is ugly. Why couldn't they have made it look as cool as the original GitS cover, or just use one of the Japanese posters?

Just turn it inside out, write "Ghost in the Shell 2" on the white side (On the spine too, you want to be able to read it on the shelf!) and call it a 'reversable cover.' Unless your handwriting is really bad, it'll look better than that cover.

Ugh, I always hated those 'reviews'. The case would be slightly bearable if that wasn't there.

Buy the R2 cover. Or print it on high quality paper/printer.... Or have some place like kinkos professionally print one.

Well, the DVD is finally going to hit the shelves tomorrow. Despite the ugliness of the cover, I'm gonna buy one anyway. It's the movie that counts, right?

Don't buy, the subtitles have closed caption included, [people talking],
it's set up for hearing impaired and you can't choose any other subs.
wait for a re-release as this one is crap.

i concur.
it blows some serious chunks.
the nadesico (kia asayima) "comic" issue 1 had an american artist do the cover. i have no idea why they bother.

Warrior of the Wind... the notorious butchering of Nausicaa. They managed to screw up everything by even editing out over half-hour of footage. Fear not, though, as Miyazaki's debut (http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=BVD025344) (and the best) is finally going to get the 'official' U.S. release that it deserved for years on 2/22/05.

Looking at that cover, I feel like I've stepped back 10 years in time to when it seemed like all the anime being imported was either based on sex (the pic's screaming bondage) or violence (prominent gun wielding). Ugh - maybe they're trying to capture that market again.

looks for Barth Bag... help! ugg so ubber ugly the green text.... and the manufactorers for the Gits.. they suck! sending out box art that looks like a 200 year old photo. =/ the reason 2 looked better then the other one!

The cover sucks. The imported cover or maybe one of the Japanese posters would have been better. And it's not Dub (which I was hoping it was). Over all still a good movie...... :) :D :cool:

That cover art is ALMOST as bad as the megaman 1 and 2 box art.....
the ugly dvd art is one of the main reason why I still havn't buy the R2 DVD dispite I want to buy it...maybe I'll wait a couple years, and wait for the R1 DVD to include the eng subs, just like the remastered version of the first GITS movie. Again the R1 cover looks better IMO than the R2, even tho R2 cover isn't too bad
