WOO!! It's coming! I think some time around 3rd December... Best racing game IMO. There's also a photo taking function included in GT4... COOL! And no, I'm not overrating this game. Anyone who loves to race should give it a try, and see if the physics is good enough or not (on par with SEGA GT 2004).
There's also a GT4 Limited Edition that comes with a pair of Nike shoes and clothes! Show the shirt in front of an eyetoy and this unclocks a secret car.
Any fans? Any one looking forward to it?
GT3 is still the best racing game out there. The physics is just incredible... I'd pick simulators over arcade racers ("Need For Speed: Underground", "Burnout") any day.
GT4 is going to be amazing.

Its going to be awesome....Had that game pre-ordered some time ago and was hoping for that December release date but Gamestop told me that it got pushed back until Jan 3. :(

I loved drifting in GT3, it felt so cool. And with over 600 cars and way more tracks there's no way i'm gonna miss out on GT4 :D

I stand corrected but its even more bad news...Sony announced that the game will be delayed and its release date will be sometime between Jan-March for the American release. :(

Gran turismo is still more arcade then sim IMO. Of course its waaaaay more realistic than NSFU or burnout but still a long way to go to replicating what happens on a real track with real cars. Granted with sim tires and TCS turned off its getting pretty close but I've definatly played more realistic games.

I really they decide to include online play. Awhile ago sony made an anoucement saying it was cut due to time constriants but I really hope it makes it in now. Online would make Gt4 sooo sooo amazing.

I think they dropped the idea of Online play because the time spent may not be worth it. Not many PS2 users have access to the network. I heard there are customised parts for each car. Is that true?
Oh no... GT4 is delayed... But i guess MGS3 can keep me occupied before moving on to GT4. Then comes Xenosaga 2... Wow, I'm haven't been sooo occupied with games for quite sometime.
Can anyone please reccommend driving sim games? Yes, I'm a sim-freak. (not THE SIMS game.)

Damn Sony for pushin back GT4 again!

What do u mean customised parts for each car? Of course you can mod the aspects of your car that affect performance like engine, drive train, gearing ect ect. BUt your not going to find any body kits or anything in gt4.. its purely about the racing not the ricing :P FI your looking for good racing sims your going to need to get a PC and a good wheel. Tons of crazy realistic games ae out for pc though, gtr (road racing) and richard burns rally (rally, obviously :p) come to mind.

Ahhhh! GT4 is so going to pwn everything. >_<! I've been waiting for sooo long.
Speaking of which, the rumors about 1080i in-game resolution (not menus) are true. I
was so freaking amazed (and so were a heck of a lot of people.) 1080i is HDTV
resolution, and to have that in real-time is crazy. There were only a few games out
there on the XBox that featured 1080i, but they failed in physics and framerate.
GT4 can run at 60Hz @ 1080i on a PS2! Ahhhh! GENIUS game developers. My two
cousins, one of which who lives in Taiwan and the other in Japan, say the game is
freaking awesome.
I believe them.

as I am playing now... you have the option of the computer running the race for you...
You don't get " A-Spec" points but "B-Specs" points... you gain the money and the cars as if you are driving yourself.
You give orders to slow down or to take all the risks... do a pit stop or pass a car...
It is an awsome option... so you can learn the curves without wasting time... and gain some money at the same time :)
It also let your hands 90% of the time free... to type a post for example ;)

Wow. that's a good system. It's very useful for the next installment of GT since online play requires us to type.

well it is not like an autopilot...
you have to choose at the beginning of the race if you driver yourself or if you "Bark" commands and let the computer drive.
Sometimes the PS2 try to hard to pass a car on the wrong side or bump into it...

yes since the 28th of december... your best bet is to find someone to buy it off the shelves (around 6400yen) and ship it to you...
Sorry I am not willing to start this business :)

Just played the Asian version of GT4... Hmm, racing on arcade mode seems to be a big leap from GT3. Driving physics is a bit weird as well. RX-7 FD3S doesn't drive like it should. Now, driving needs to be very delicate to keep the car in the right direction. Some roads seem wider, like those in Trial Mountain and the Grand Speedway hairpin.
Wow, lots of vintage cars! Finally able to get my hands on Honda TODAY...**Nitro On!**. Too bad no Honda S200.

If I could only afford a setup like this... I would be in pure bliss :o

Yay!!
GT4 just released in my local stores today!! :D:D
And on top of that, it's the Chinese version too.
I just spent 5 hours getting all the driver licienses. Most are bronze though, crappy controller.
I'm planning to buy the GT4 wheel because GT4 is really worth that much. :D:D:D

I'm stuck!!
I'm playing in the last race of the Profession races.
I think it is called the GT World Championship.
Anyways, I'm using the benz concept 98' to race and I feel that my car is not fast enough. Is there another faster car that you can obtain to play that championship?

Ahhhhh! I can't wait for this to get here! Anybody have an update on the North America release date?
For those that have it, are there Porsches? Or RUFs? My second favorite car manufacturer and I was hoping Polyphony would get the Porsche liscence, but they couldn't get Ferrari, so maybe not.

RX-7 FD3S doesn't drive like it should. Now, driving needs to be very delicate to keep the car in the right direction.
Pardon me, but how did you know the FD3S doesn't drive like it should?
Have you ever driven one of them on the tracks or streets, at that speed in real life?
The FD3S is a "wild horse" and although many have claimed to be able to "tame" it, but the crashes and dents on their cars proved otherwise...
But since I have the similar interest in driving sims and dislike arcade racers, have you tried out Battle Gear 3?
I must point out that the tyres physics in Battle Gear 3 seems to be better than the previous Gran Turismo simulation tyres, eventhough there are many who curses this game for its difficulty due its so called "unrealistic" racing feel.

RUF is in Germany, and there are about 4 or 5 cars.
The physics in GT4 has been reprogramed and refined. You can feel your weight-shift a lot better.
The FD is really good around the corners, but can understeer on you if you don't watch your braking point.
I feel that in GT4, you can really tell why RWD is still the best platform for racing.

whoa! RWD or FR? 'Cause wouldn't it just be like the RUFs and a classic Beetle or something if it's RWD?
Thanks for the nfo, morejuice, metalsiren.
And not to start a fight or anything, Hattori, but what specifically was in kenshinchong's post that made you think he hasn't driven a FD3S?
To quote somebody clever, "Assume, and you make an ass out of u and me."
But maybe you know kenshinchong, and I'm just butting in where I don't belong . . . If so, please excuse me. :)

Nope, I have never driven a FD3S. I'm just making a comparison to GT3. Please don't jump to conclusions. After all this is a gaming thread, so there's little reference to real life cars. And yes, I've played Battle Gear 3, but I'm not much of a Togue fan, so I gave up on the game :p.
