I've been here for about 6 months now and of course with anything over time it changes. When i first got here there was some dispute about removing the loli section and people getting annoied because of lolicon being cancelled because it is in violation of the child pornagraphy laws. It was a strange day when you log into hongfire and a rule stating promotion of pedophilia now exists. Later on the reputation system was remove and brought back, I was happy about that. I kind of worked hard for my reputation. Anyways what was hongfire like in it's early days? How much of it has changed? Do the new wave of members differ from other members back in the day?

I think you misread that rule. It says Prohibition of Promotion of Pedophilia. That means it is PROHIBITED.You are not allowed to discuss that topic on Hongfire. So in reality things are pretty much the same as when I became a member two years ago. The only change that stayed was the nude model gallery removed.

Huh, you seems to forget a lot of thing too.
Once upon a time, AV, licensed animes/H-animes torrents were also allowed.
At the very beginning of this forum, there were even a very few warez if I recall well :p
Also a few months ago DLSite torrents are no longer allowed either.

Uhm Sphie, look at your join date and mine. I came in 3 months later. So some of that stuff must have been gone by then.. But I do rememebr the AV section which I kinda grouped or (groped) as nude models.

I don't remember the AV section. I do remember the Hong Kong movie with ebola, and the warez section which could be relied on for Alcohol 120%. Those were the good days. And I think suprnova.org was still up back then.

Yes, suprnova.org was up and running still at full speed. Now, I haven't been around way back when, but enough to see the changes. Other things that include are we're losing more and more of our old members...meaning less and less activity from them.
But, also, least not we forget Oink37 and his multiple personalities/accounts that he had plus the forever in stone, naming HereAtThere - HAT jokingly XD

I remember (and used on occasion) the AV section. I assure you all, it was very real, and very popular (much more so than the present-day H-Anime Torrents forum is).
I remember two Lolicon wars. Anybody who lives in H-Torrents is basically going to be affected by these things. I didn't really follow individual members too much, so I can't say I remember who left, but I remember many people leaving HF the first time ... and I remember much more vociferous protesting the 2nd time. That was one of the fastest reversals of forum policy I've ever seen. That's not to say there have only been two loli-related forum-wide fights ....... I only just remember the two.
