There are minor revisions of the forum rules concerning direct downloads. As of now, direct downloads are allowed in HongFire forums.

Guidelines for direct download threads:

As a rule, all direct download threads should contain "[download]" label in their thread. All the necessary tags should follow after the download tag.
[download] - [anime][manga][RAW]... name of material All direct download threads will be contained in their respective forum section. If its a hentai manga, post it in the hentai manga section. If hentai anime, it goes in the hentai anime section. If its a CG set, it goes in the hentai lair section. If its an OST, then it goes in the OST discussion. DO NOT POST YOUR DIRECT DOWNLOAD THREAD IN THE TORRENT SECTION!

As a rule, the material being direct downloaded MUST COMPLY with the torrent rules. Failure to comply with the torrent rules will result to thread deletion. Uploading of real child porn is not tolerated, and will result of an immediate permanent ban when found.

Lastly, as a precaution, do not direct link materials that will attract authorities. For obvious reasons.

This should clarify on matters about direct downloading.

2/16/2006: The Clubs & Fandom Forum Section Updates (Still Under Development)

After several site upgrades, the administrators have finally made revisions on the Clubs & Fandom Section. The following are the most recent changes made & information on how things work in the club sections:

1. The Clubs & Fandom Forum Section

One of the changes introduce an entirely renovated new forum section called the Club House (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143). Under the Clubs & Fandom (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=142) forum section, all of the current 9 official HF clubs are categorized under Official Clubs (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=132) forum section. These clubs within this section are the official main clubs on HongFire.com (refer below to know how these clubs work). On the other hand, under the general Club House (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143) forum section, any members can start their small group or fandom threads to discuss their favorite subject. These little groups are similiar to the main HF clubs, but in smaller scale/size. Think of it like disposable one-time fandom groups, or testing grounds for potential new HF clubs. Much like a lobby area for groups of members with similiar interest on a particular subject, or unofficial mini-clubs. All members are free to create threads & posts in this particular section. However, the Club House (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143) will still be moderated by the staff members just like on the main forums. Club House (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143) is an entirely seperate section from the official main club sections, so club moderators from those main club sections have no moderation control over this section. For more information regarding the rules & guidelines on using the new Club House (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143) section, please refer to the following thread (still under development): http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43335

2. How The Official Clubs Section Work.

Generally, all community members are free to view the contents of any clubs (public viewing). However, only approved club members in a respective club section can create threads and posts within it. For non-club members of any clubs, they do not have the permission to create threads and posts in those sections. Exception to this are members with the following status; VIP, Donor, Special Group, Staff, Moderator, Super Moderator, Administrator; these members are free to create threads and posts in any club sections.

3. Becoming A Club Member For A Certain Club.

Guidelines, rules, & information on how to qualify to be a club member of a certain club can be found on the respective club's forum section (usually in one of their main club-membership information thread). To join a club:

1. Go to member's UserCP and click on the "Group Memberships (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/profile.php?do=editusergroups)" option. This will display a section with the list of HF clubs available for a member to join.

http://img4.picsplace.to/img4/20/Club_Notice_1.gif

2. Check any one of the "Join Group" radio buttons of member's desired club to be joined, then click on the "Join Group" button located below the list.

3. Member will then be directed to the "Join Request" form, where member will need to type in their reason for joining the particular club. Once done with typing in the reason, click on the "Send Request" to send this request notice to the appropiate club leaders.

http://img4.picsplace.to/img4/20/Club_Notice_000.gif

4. Member will have to wait for the club leaders to approve their club membership request in order to be officially accepted into the club. Club leaders will make their decison on whether or not to authorize the member to be accepted into the club. Once member have been approved & given the club membership rights by the respective club leaders, member will then be officially listed as a club member for the respective club.

5. Member also have the choice of leaving a club anytime after joining it. To leave a certain club, return to member's UserCP "Group Memberships (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/profile.php?do=editusergroups)" option section. Near the bottom of the HF clubs list, is the list of member's currently joined club. Just check any one of the "Leave Group" radio buttons of member's desired club to leave, then click on the "Leave Group" button located below the list. Member will then finally be removed from the club.

4. Club Leaders, Club Moderators And Their Abilities.

Club leaders are members who take charge of matters/activities within their club. Each club have various number of club leaders. These club leaders have the control of granting club membership rights to potential members who applied to join their respective club. Currently, only one of these club leaders in each of the clubs have the permission & ability to moderate their respective club. These club leaders with limited moderation controls are known as Club Moderators. Their abilities function only within the designated clubs alone, they won't function outside of their respective club section, and obviously won't work on the main forum sections. Club Moderators' abilities include:

i. Granting or removing club membership rights.
ii. Viewing the list of the entire registered/approved club members.
iii. Delete or edit posts.
iv. Delete or edit threads.
v. Open or close threads.
vi. Stick or unstick threads.
vii. Merge threads or posts.
viii. Move posts.

Exception to this are certain clubs having a staff member as an active club member, where he/she will take over the role to be the club moderator (refer to the list below). Additionally, all staff members (Moderator, Super Moderator, Administrator) will still maintain their moderation on all of the club sections. The following members are the designated Club Moderators:

HF-Key = adun50 (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=32)
HF-Guilty Gear = Miltani (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=2452)
HF-YUSHY = S&T Kawaii Love (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=42878)
HF-Loli = Atachi (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=14804)
HF-Hentai = Mai Tokiha (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=78323)
HF-[img] = PowerMog (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=57714)
HF-CLAMP = xxxkHOLiC (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=90982)
HF-Mimikko = jsnut (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=102)
HF-Mecha = Redsuns (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=4052)

5. Club Issues.

Any club related issues should be fowarded to the appropiate/respective Club Moderator first, since they have the main role of handling any club related matters. If for some reason members find it inconvenient to address it to the Club Moderators, members are also free to foward it to the staff members, where we could try to help members ease/settle whatever problems they might have. As for the other groups within the Club House (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143) section, those are handled & moderated by the staff members.

6. To The Club Leaders.

Now is the time to update all of your club's membership information threads to reflect the current changes. Please make sure that whatever guidelines, rules, & information on how to become a club member on your club are clearly stated.

3/1/2006: Removal Of Flash Sections In The Gallery

Unfortunately, due to the possible malicious intent or potential "exploitation" with flash formats (SWF), two of the flash sections within the gallery have been removed. Until the staff members manage to figure a way around this problem, these sections will remain "unavailable" until further notice. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause, but it had to be done for security & safety reasons.

3/7/2006: Minor Clubs & Fandom Section Settings Update

We have enabled the permission for any community members to create posts in any threads within the Clubs & Fandom Section (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=142). In other word, all members are free to post in any clubs (including any official clubs). However, non-club members are still restricted from making new threads in any of the official club sections. Only authorized club members of their respective clubs are allowed to create new threads on their respective secitons.

Take note that this is an ongoing change, we are still conducting field test surveys to observe how the club sections are working & evolving, expect to see more drastic changes & major upates soon. We are still trying to tweak and improve the whole Clubs & Fandom Section (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=142), working to balance out various settings & parameters. As part of this testing process/excercise (and by popularity), we have also upgraded the HF-TypeMoon Club (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=144), officially making it as a part of the Official Clubs (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=132).

HongFire would like to remind all of the current club moderators to excecise their leadership role & responsibilities properly in their respective club sections. Failing to do so (poor performances) will lead to the removal of the particular club moderator's role (in other words: fired), which then a new club moderator will be chosen/elected as the replacement by the staff members. HongFire says; "Know your role, and do your job properly."
