I don't understand how people can take a stance on these things. There are certain genres I enjoy, and certain ones I don't - that doesn't make any genre "wrong."

My first exposure to hentai (and for the most part anime in general) was tentacular in nature. At first I was shocked, then curious. After a bit of exploration and research I was intruiged. Now I guess you could say I'm thoroughly ingrained in the tentacle comunity.

Someone said it before, I too think that tentacle hentai can be well made, but in many series it just lacks action. it's the same always. montster lifts girl in the air using tentacles -> wraps her breast -> penetrates mouth -> penetrates vagina -> penetrates anal and we're done.
and the animation is very minimal. just hoses moving back and forth. it's usually boring to watch.

also, unlike male\female relation, it's rare to find different poses or stories. which makes it boring as well.

to sum it up, I like well made tentacle hentai. but the majority is simply bad.

I could never really get into the whole tentacle fetish. I wonder if it was originally designed to allow for penis shaped items to go uncensored in oral and other non-vag scenes that would normally have to be censored. Tentacles are far from being a turn off to me but I don't find it all that great. I watched La Blue Girl ages ago too and after that... I dunno, I felt that something was missing in the tentacle sequences.

Now that I think about it, I think EtBl said it best: it kinda lacks variety so it gets old and a bit dull after some time IMHO. Yeah, I guess that's the reason... It tends to be the same thing in every title and the minimal animation in most of them doesn't help either.

My first two h-anime series' were the original Urotskidoji and La Blue Girl series', and I didn't have a problem with the tentacle aspect... actually, I found them kinda funny, even when they got into some of the more grotesque stuff. ("Delicious... after 3000 years... pussy!" That sequence from Overfiend 1 still cracks me up.) I actually have more distaste for the constant stream of human-on-human-rape stuff, but I get it that some folks like that in their fantasy materials, and who am I to tell anyone what their turn-ons should be?

Admittedly, I prefer more consensual scenes in h-anime, but part of the reason for that is that most h-producers seem to forget a very basic aspect of the nature of what they're creating... namely, an animated porn fantasy! It's cartoons, people! You don't need to worry about being constrained by an Effects budget the same way that live-action does! Go nuts! The sky's the limit! But it seems that the "fantasy" aspect is mostly concentrated on rape, taboo, and tentacles - which tend to get old when they've been over-used.
