30th of December Comiket 69 will come out and Tony Taka will release a Doujin called "Barbecue".
He will also release a NEW artbook, ofcourse i will do my best to track down this and share it to the best of my ability.

thats the problem with trying to collect the art of someone you like... just when you're satisfied with having say the hcg you find out there's crap loads more that you dont have and soon the obseesive need to collect everything comes in >_>

well, I won't argue, but I viewed him as the 'hentai-version artist' of Oh! Great, who also well-known for his talent in drawing female in sexy proportions.

The difference between them: OG choose the BW-world (manga), T2 choose the colorful-world (doujin&CG).

Hmm, I don't see why he is a 'hentai-version' of Ogure Ito (Oh! Great) because their styles are very different. But while Tony's characters are arguably of equal standards with Ito's, Ito pretty much owns Tony in other aspects of art such as scenery and his crazy interpretation of art styles to create stunningly coherent and yet primarily illogical pieces of art. An example is his current manga Air Gear: just take a look at Ito's skill in drawing inanimate objects and how he makes subtle changes to the background that bring out the visual effect of the characters in the foreground, too bad the story is just so flawed. Ito is actually famous for more than just his talent in drawing sexy females, he is far too talented to just be well-known for something so linear, he is a brilliant artist by nature.

Doh, I had actually wanted to start my post saying Tony is better but I ended up with more pros for Ito than for Tony. What a bummer.

They're also not clearly separated by the 2 worlds that knossus mentioned. One of the few things different about them is the abovementioned, and another would be that Ito likes to write and draw his own stories, Tony just more or less concentrates on the drawing aspect. I'm sure many of us can relate to the excitement of making the characters from your own story come to life by drawing them.

I believe Ito is much better than Tony as an artist. Tony does a very good job at hiding his flaws, he can't manipulate his background art to complement his characters in the foreground as well as Ito(thus we don't see him drawing background art very often). Ito also has an amazing work rate compared to Tony, one manga every month compared to one doujin every comiket, >.>;

Ok ok, enough Tony-thrashing. I can't believe I'm actually criticising one of my favourite artists. Yes! For all you Tony-fans out there, Shining Wind, the sequel to Shining Tears will be coming out in mid-July, in Japanese of course. It will be selling for 7,329 yen and will come with its OST (I think), and some CD (or was it DVD) containing freebies like wallpaper and stuff. There was an event held in Japan recently for the promotion of Shining Wind and those who signed up for their pre-ordered copy of Shining Wind walked home with a nice limited edition Shining Wind poster which was also framed! Uguu, I'm so jealous. Anyway, Tony-fans should look out for the artbook, because the game sucks. Imo I found Shining Tears to be a decent game, and Shining Wind is only a slightly improved engine of the former. Thus, when you compare it to the games of this generation, it's just not good enough, unless you have pretty low standards to be content with games just from looking at the in-game character art(like me, rofl).

Well, in any case, I will still be getting the game (not very persuasive am I, heh), nothing wrong with a little old school gaming now and then. And of course, don't forget to check out the anime crossover of Shining Tears X Wind, where both games are merged together... which is quite weird if you ask me.

I have to disagree about the part where you say that Shining Wind sucks. After finishing Shining Tears I thought that the story wasn't as bad as people said but the battle system does suck. As for Wind, I think that the battle system is more then slightly improved compared to the previous game. It's actually pretty fun to play it with others and instead of that crappy charging up before using special attacks... and you get to use combos and spam moves as you like. Also it doesn't lagggg like hell like Tears which is nice.

As for the story, it might not be new and exciting (nothing is these days) but I like it. While I'm not done with Shining Wind yet, I'm finding myself having more fun with the game then Shining Tears. Of course it's also a nice bonus that Tony did the drawings combined with popular voice actors (Souichiro Hoshi, Akira Ishida, Midorikawa Hikaru, Yui Horie, Ayako Kawasumi, Nana Mizuki).

If I was to name some games that I enjoyed (say the last few years), I would say that the only ones I've enjoyed are Ar Tonelico, Atelier series, Shining Tears, Shining Wind, Star Ocean 3, Eiyuu Densetsu games, Growlanser games, and Tales of Destiny Remake. I also have to add the Marl Kingdom series but that was made before 2000 (except Tenshi No Present).

Also I have to add: Shining Wind is already out. Where did you hear that it would be released in July?

Shining Wind is a very good game and has looked into the flaws of the solid but rough Tears.

I kinda miss Hayashibara for Neige though. Ayako Kawasumi sounds older.

I think Megumi Hayashibara for Blanc was pretty good, but somehow it felt out of place. I think Ayako Kawasumi does a pretty good job. I also have to add that I'm sad that Killrain's voice actor in the anime isn't the same as the game (Midorikawa Hikaru.) I wonder why...

Blanc is much sexier in her new clothes in Shining Wind. Before I really liked her looks but it felt too bulky. Elwyn looks almost the same to me and Mao never interests me...

It's most likely that Midorikawa is expensive to sustain a full length series but he really brings out more character in Kilrain than mr deep voiced cool bishonen VA no221.

I haven't heard Ayako's dere Neige to give a full confirmation if you ask me but we'll see if she speaks in game. Thing is Neige sounded really sweet when she's in dere mode for Megumi. Ayako sounds more mature.

That's exactly the problem I was talking about. Type the password, click, if it says session expired, press Backspace and click again. Rinse and repeat until you get the file. It always works until you run out of patience. I live in Singapore too, so I know about it.

You know, I'm starting to believe that either no one bothered to scan and upload Ragnatic Fanbook 3, or that it doesn't actually exist. For one thing, it was delayed (http://kyoga.xrea.jp/ragnarok_c65.html) and thus never made it to c65. Winny pretty much has every other doujin produced by him but every file named "Ragnatic Fanbook 3" is either filled with viruses or non-related material. Apart from the cover no one has ever posted the contents inside also. Alas, his website doesn't have a complete archive of his posts so there's no way to check if he had anything to say about it. :(

ahhhhhhh...I actually found a torrent(use Tokyotosho to find it) with all the pictures from the book. The only problem is that all the pics are from a camera so they are not in the best of quality. I've uploaded them and have them in the link below until better scans appear. You could use this as a catalog to verify you have all the pics when they are all available.

Oh yeah, scans get cheaper with time in AnimePaper. It now takes 2595 papers to download. Apparently it gets cheaper by each day. If it ever falls to the point I can get'em all, I'll download them and post'em here.

Alright, looks like the rest of the artbook is on Shining Tears category instead, where there are 37 new ones (stopping at http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/scans/Shining-Tears/item232645/). Apparently the lowest the paper can go is 25, so if you add'em up, you need 2575 papers.

Anyone with 1000 papers here that would be willing to collaborate and get the artworks with me? We'll need to decide who gets what so that we don't get overlaps. Of course, we still have to wait till all scans fall to 25 papers each.

I was also trying to see a way to get around the paper system. I though I had it at first, but it seams "decoding" the URL wont cut the cake (and I had most of it figured out by that time D: )
I thought if i figured what made up the URL in the "If you can't see the image, click here" button, that I would get around it. Sad to say (at least for me) they thought about that.

Oh, and I think it reaches the lowest point of 25 papers after 4 weeks.

currently Im sneaking on since I'm sick (so I haven't been downloading yet) but I actually downloaded 3 of those pictures already. But these are nicer than the ones on anime paper; these colors are nice and rich!

Oh, I have 2 artworks by Tony that aren't in the book. They're from the Shining Tears Novel (Knights of the Twin Dragon, the only book where he does ALL the illustrations) I don't have a scanner so I can only take a photo of them with the camera. Would you like me to send you those 2 pictures?
One of them is a picture of Keiner and Xion where they're fighting each other.

You should be able to find the torrents lying around if you searched a bit, I think. I can't remember which torrent I used, but that's so long ago that it's probably dead by now. By the way, a little heads-up. I have downloaded all Shining Wind scans from AnimePaper. Once I obtain the Shining Tears scan from Anime0milk, I'll compress them together and upload them here.

... I was hoping for quality equal to the "Isshoni H Shiyotsu" series but I guess I can do with this though I wish the drawings match more closely to what Green Bunny did with their drawings. Sounds like most of the original voice actors from the 1st are back and the series is a continuation of the 1st series following the story 3 month after the end of the 1st story with Nozomi living with Kido(I knew that was going to happen :shy:) though what the actual story is I can't tell with the translation programs I'm using. At least plenty of scenes with Nozomi and Mei whom I glad is getting screen time since I like her design and was sad she only had that one scene in the 1st ep and thats it.
