lol jsut when i was gonna post the long message i posted to begin thread my firefox bugged for the first time ever... that was weird anyways back to the subject at hand. This thread is for the new Fire emblem game on the NGC i was wondering if i was a remake of the gba version(sacred stones) or a sequel cause when i saw screenshots i saw lots and lots of similar chars and similar fighting areas. So i need to know about the quality of the game, i need to know the opinion of the people and not of the corporate gaming world lol(or both i dont relaly care). Is this a buy worthy game or just a rent worthy one or none of the above u guys just not recommend the game?

It's worth to buy, and trust me i know alot about Fire Emblem.
Per system the game use reuse graphic peer game. Usually the only thing new
would be your main character, if you're talking about graphics.
The game system is like Advance Wars ( only thing i can compare it with)
mix with Shining Force even though everything is base of Fire Emblem
anyways to start , if you import i suggest

Fire Emblem 4 or AKA Genealogy of Holy War for SNES which is probably the best FE game you'll ever play if you can understand japanese. That game has two generations and the second generation is where you get to control the kid of your main char which has the status of the Dad and mom combine.
And never buy Thracia 776 as a start , the diffculty will turn off people just starting Fire emblem away from it.

Now for the american release go pick Fire Emblem ( aka 7 or Rekka no Ken) over the other ones just don't get sacred stones.

The original Fire Emblem for Nes is not something i would suggest now since the game is old , except Marth from SSBM is in it ( Who is a really crappy character in his own game)

Hmm, funny you would say it's worth a buy and yet at the same time the only new thing is your main character. In a game boy advance to console translation shouldn't we expect more? Like, a LOT more? Maybe this is sour grapes because I was so let down by the censorship in Sacred Stones... Anyway I saw a pretty solid review of it in Reviews on the Run and they weren't impressed. The sort of thing that's fun on a handheld because you can play it on the bus or wherever can be really tedious if you're sitting at home trying to get the most out of a day off work. It always surprises me how someone who cares for a series expresses that by going easy on subsequent installments. In my opinion the best way to show your respect for something is to hold it to higher rather than lower standards.

Maybe they just don't see the need to change what isn't broken.

Gamespot's review of the title is largely positive. I would recommend Sacred Stones as well, although not instead of the first American release.

Am I the only one who thinks the topic creator is talking about Souen no Kiseki (Path of Radiance), and NOT Sacred Stones?

Anyways, Path of Radiance keeps the traditional gameplay of Fire Emblem. But it still feels different because it's the first ever FE in 3D graphics. New gamers may find it nice but FE oldies like me might find it a bit annoying though. I don't believe it's a sequel of a previous FE game, but I could be wrong since I don't exactly remember all the FE games I've ever played ^_^; Highly recommended.

Well i'll put it in which fire emblem is in the same world

FE 1 & FE 3
FE 2
FE 4 & FE 5
FE 6 & FE 7
FE 8
FE 9

Most of time they create 2 games per world then switch to other one.

And Karis , i was talking about the graphics is the only thing being the same per console but the gameplay usually is far different per sequel except the newer fire emblems.

FE 1 is the basic
Fe 2 is like Zelda 2 a lot of change , you can even go to dungeons but mostly known to be the Worst FE.
FE 3 comes with FE 1 as well , is just like FE 1 Except better graphics just think Link to the past
FE 4 Parent system and Skill system
FE 5 Capture system and new objectives
Fe 6 Back to basic
FE 7 Same as 6 except with 3 lords as in 3 main char.
FE 8 Skill system and bit of mix with FE 2 but not a great mix.
Fe 9 Skill system and back to the basic.

4 and 5 use the exact same graphics ,
6, 7 ,8 use the same graphics..

That's the Gamespot review I was talking about.

Fire Emblem 6 (Fuuin no Tsurugi - which I think means "The Sword of Seals" or something like that) is currently being fan-translated. I think it's almost done, too.

Hmm, another specific complaint about the gamecube one (I can't remember the title, sorry...) is that there's no voice. Like, they tease you with a really awesome intro and then once you start playing it's all reading text and clicking to move to the next sentence. That doesn't seem very fun :( The only reviews I trust are Reviews on the Run anyway, since all the others seem waaaaaay too generous.

Cutscenes are voiced though. And the english voice acting is actually done quite well, for a change. Oh yeah, and never get suckered in by the introduction scenes. Those always look better than the actual game. (In particular for most PS2 games, since the system is less powerful than its peers and has to rely on FMV glitz to woo the graphics whores.)

To the thread starter; I bought Path of Radiance on launch day and am still playing it. I've got no complaints. Truely excellent installment in the Fire Emblem series and because of easy difficulty level and fairly small chance of getting RNG-screwed, it's also a good starting point for Fire Emblem newbies.

Hee hee, point taken about the FMV :) Well, if the cutscenes are voiced that's something anyway. Been playing a lot of Soul Caliber 3 lately, a friend lent it too me. Sort of a move away from my usual rpg fixation anyway, but does show there's life yet in the PS2. Even if this particular installment of Fire Emblem doesn't blow me away I still have a lot of respect for the series. It takes a lot to kill off my appreciation for something, Suikoden 4 made me more or less give up for example and nobody I've talked to has indicated this Fire Emblem incarnation is nearly that bad!

If you have a GC, and like strategy based RPG games, then have absolutlely no reason not to buy this game. It's a must have, and it's just as good as the GBA Fire Emblem games, or even the original SNES ones, that never came over to the US.

Love The Series. I Was Also Quite Estatic To See Marth And Roy In SSBM. Only Played The Following Though.

Fire Emblem (GBA)
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.
Fire Emblem: Seisen No Keifu.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776.

Overall: A Great Series (Archangel Rating: 9/10)

Asking me about fire emblem is really stupid... i am the most biased source ever, but i would have to say: GET IT ...GET IT...GET IT ... (and so on)
I have played all 9 of the fire emblem games and compared tot eh others there are a few drawbacks :
no support room,
Cannot "turn off" animations, (they still take forever even if they are on the off mode)

Other than that it is the best, Huge number of characters, new abilities, Great graphics, excellent plot as well as enough hidden features to keep you hooked!
