Okie, this thread is about my desire to make a group. The reason for this is back when I joined HongFire, I saw the Group Membership section in my profile and wondered if I could join a group. Of course, I then learned that they hadn't implemented that part of the forums. So now that everyone can be part of a group, I must make a group in which I and others can join. This club shall be called the HF-Pollers!

Before being able to apply for a club, there are a few requirements. Requirement 1 states:

In general, hf-related clubs must be useful for the community. No clubs shall be created for the purpose of defamation, elitism, or to counter another group.HF-Poller is useful to the community as we make polls, in which people can answer so that we can better understand the community we are in. Through scientific studies, we can learn what people like and dislike or what people prefer over other things and such. Our purpose is not to defame, counter another group, or show signs of elitism.

Requirement 2 states:

Clubs must have a solid agenda or purpose of their existence. Clubs created out of randomness will and most likely not be approved by the majority of the staff in hongfire.Back before the great crash of 2005, there used to be many polls being made. Most of the times, the General Discussion section would consist of 60% of the threads also being polls. To revive that sense of feeling once again, I have created this club. Our agenda is to create polls for people to answer, discuss, and play around with. It's pretty simple and almost anyone can do it.

The second part of our agenda is that we will allow anyone/everyone who wants to be in the group. Many members want to be part of a group, but because the lack of groups currently available, the selection is slim. With this group, everyone can be part of a group. It's a pretty simple concept that no one is left alone. Because of this we can be considered HF-Carebears also; however, HF-Pollers sounds cooler unless people decide otherwise.

The third part of our agenda is that we will have a tutorial on how to make a good poll. Since good polls are hard to come by, we must educate the less knowledgable with our formidable skills in poll making.

Requirement 3 states:

If you are intent in creating your very own club, make sure that you do not act alone in it. There should be a minimum of 2 or 3 sub-personnels that manages the group besides yourself. This would prove efficient in management, as well as flexibility when one of the staff needs to contact your group. This is the main reason for this thread. Since I cannot act alone as my duty as leader, I need two or three other people that manages the group. Since our agenda is pretty lame and simple, having even one leader is unnecessary, but to abide by the rules, I must recruit people that are willing to pretend that our group is useful and beneficial to the community. Also, that we actually do stuff. Like important stuff. Stuff that we make up as they interrogate us.

So now that you know what my group is all about, I need to know whether this is a stupid idea. Please leave comments, but more importantly, answer the lovely poll. :D

Also if you want to make such a club you should post your application in this thread(http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37248&page=1&pp=10) not creating a new seperate one.

Edited for my insufficent knowledge:p

And after all that whining about opening membership groups, that's the best what you could come up with!

You might want to add the former poll master (lol) - Kerii, to your list of co-leaders :p ...afterall, Kerii was the first to put up a 101 course in the art of polling. :p

Also, let me recall that Kerii was the first one to request this feature last year. Quite interesting that this thread (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3604) still exists, while the other thread (art of polling) has been washed away into oblivion.

Edited for my insufficent knowledgeWell, if you read my little post, I need 2-3 more people to act sub-leaders as that is part of Requirement 3 of the application. So before I can apply, I need to find people that are willing to take up the challenge of a completely insane task. I have already asked Desmonthes if it was okay that I post this because to tell you the truth, there is no way people can create clubs other than by chatting via a messaging system or posting a thread in the forums. You need members before you can create groups, and only the older groups have current members, which will join.

/runs off >.>Actually, as a matter of fact, I was going to PM Kerii earlier today about founder position or whatever. My earlier post (HF blew up on me while posting my first copy as I stated in IRC channel earlier) talked about how Kerii was the poll maker guru and it was pretty silly. Then, I got lazy and made it more serious when writing it the second time, which I guess loses all the fun in this whole group.

And this is not the best I can come up with, it's the best that has a chance of actually being approved when it has members. Clubs like HF-Where's_HongFire?, which consists of a special elite task of members to search for HongFire (http://www.hongfire.com/forum/member.php?u=1). Using information like when his Last Activity was, we can further pinpoint his exact location until we capture him in a bag and make him answer our demands! :p

However, I did plan on making something like HF-Writing, but then figured that would be too cool and actually possible to make. I mean, it's not like people write fanfictions about animes they've seen or just other personal stuff, whether it be creative or not. Because we all know that HF-Writing is a stupid idea and don't want it to exist. If you want to help me make HF-Writing, PM me. ;)

But I'm still shocked that so many people voted No. and didn't even bother to put a reason why. I tell you, this is complete injustice. I think I'm going to edit it so you only have one answer. :p
