might wanna check with the hf-sig guild i think they create avs/sigs.....well don't know if they create avs but since u don't have a sig maybe u can commission someone to create one for u. maybe u should ask someone from there.....hope this helps!

All it really takes for just an avatars picture just searching the web that's all. I mean just look at the avatars, 9/10 are work that's not truely made from them. Signatures too fit in this category too. Just recompose of the already compose artwork. Microsoft paint can do just and fine all. Or try GIMP I think can do it too.

if you don't mind waiting for a bit, I can probably do this for ya.
I painstakingly hand craft mine though, so it may be a short while :D
j/k...my weekends are usually busy :D
edit: just kidding about the hand-crafting. I can still do the avvy if ya want

noodle sure the pictures may be the work of somebody else but part of a great av and sig is the quality, cropping, positioning, etc of ur particular piece. when u crop and position as well as add certain effects here and there u r personlizing it so that it becomes something truly different. sometimes when ppl grade the avs/sigs, i think some ppl tend to forget that it's not about what kind of subject matter u prefer(some ppl tend to be rather shallow and the only thing that truly factors in when grading a av/sig is whether they r fans of who/whatever is displayed in the av/sig under criticism). browsing the web having read many various av/sig contest threads, i've seen all too many great sigs/avs go down to craptacular loli ones.....y, i dunno.....most ppl who voted were loli fanboys, go figure! thass y u shouldn't really trust the grades less they have reason behind the number.
sorry i kinda went off on a tangent there(what u said, kinda reminded me of crap that happened some place else)......noodle u r right, sometimes that's all it takes to snag an av. i just wanted to bring to light that though it may look like somebody else's work some ppl(and i stress SOME cuz it may not be the vast majority) spend a great deal of time cropping and positioning their avs/sigs and this shouldn't go unoticed and disregarded as just somebody elses work(not saying they u r doing this, just addressing it as a general statement directed toward whom ever survived long enough to reach the end of this rather lengthy ranting post of mines).
edit: seems many have posted before me.....sorry this seems stupidly unecessary!

Awh, just the letting out my envy of can't find or get stuff on the web like others. Sorry, I see your points and agree with them whole heartily. But the only thing I wish but it'll never happen. Right after and below just is where they got em. The type title or the artist that's all. If they don't know at least to website where so others can check it out of reference that's all. It's like say, some one toded around the library and found a book of Shakespeare and write two copy of the stories he liked like than composite it (hard work is writing and finding the book+section?). Than present to class or people made it he invented the story without mentioning Shakespeare. All I want to consider is to footnotes right at the bottom of the signature just to keep it honest and save the frustration of scouring the web.

don't worry, as i wasn't attacking u personally.....and that's great idea noodle!
btw apologies to redgar for momentarily stealing his thread!

Hahaha....considering he got his ava already, there wasn't much left to steal :D
BTW, that's a pretty slick ava for a rush job Eleven....how long did it take?
Woulda taken me forever since I'm constantly fiddling with crop positions and border types and saturation/contrast settings....I never seem to be completely satisfied, even for the simple things.

eleven i would like to know as well, as it may seem quite difficult handling many requests. being part of a club which provides such a service to ppl, at some time u can potentially be faced in a situation where the demand may be quite overwhelming. as always though i look forward to ur work!

lol i'm that way too, at times even with the simplest of things. i'm never satisfied with my own work which accounts for y i don't have a sig at the moment. well time factors in as well which is why i'm maybe considering having something done by the guild. 6(^_-)

Hm, maybe 15 minutes for finding a scan I liked, 15-30 for the work itself. All simple stuff really: crop, round corners, add text, add border, minor colour touchups to run the "g" of Redgar into the border, round corners again, bevel. Didn't have to do anything to the scan, didn't have to adjust colours or anything. XP
I probably could have played around with the colours more to make the text a bit more readable, but it seems that I won't have to :D
