If you get the CD audio error, extract this patch (http://www.cinnamonpirate.com/pub/patches/langrisser1pc/LangPatch_1.0.0.1.rar) into the game folder and, run it, and select the drive letter the CD is mounted/inserted in.

ive doen everything u said (downloaded the fix for the text, downloaded the the drive patcher and everything) but when i run the game in the beginning everything is fine (the logos, and the game intro) but when i get to the main menu i cant rly see anythign because every other cm of the screen has a black line going through it, i maniged to start the game but the same black lines appear again? do u know how to fix this?

I think that's a problem with DirectX and it's Hardware acceleration crap, but since I finished this game a long time ago, I can't remember exactly how to fix it. I'm sure if you visit the official translation webpage, whatever it is, there will be a forum post on how to fix it.

This particular Langrisser 1 is a Korean PC Port of a GENESIS game, I don't know if they did any of the sequels, but you won't find anyone that isn't fan-translated.

For Langrisser 2, the Genesis version is completely translated. There is a SNES port known as "Der Langrisser", which offers 4 paths, but it is only roughly around 25% completed (The "normal" path, like the one in the Genesis version)

Langrisser 3 is a SEGA SATURN game, I don't even know if there are Sega Saturn emulators or translation projects.

It's impossible because of how the game is programmed. You only option would be running a second Windows install in VMWare and playing there.

There are many langrisser games. The only ones in english are Warsong on sega genesis and Langrisser 1 translated on PC.

I don't own Lang 2 on PC, but on the COES, I understood it was the same as dramatic, with the only bonus (compared to dramatic) being the better movies. Yeah, hard mode is available on completetion, and it consists of harder gameplay, and a slapstick script in one.

EDIT~Dark Sol (is that a reference to Shining Force?), Langrisser Hikari 2 for Genesis is translated, and ther is a translation in the works by D (who you should all thank for this game in english). used the patch?The programmers hard-coded the drive letter into the game(D).The patch will help you change it.

LOL , i do reseed this torrent at least 2 hours a day.It's still not dead but nearly because my upload speed is only around 1-7KBs/sec (go blame the earthquake ,not me).LOL, with such an upload speed ,i don't know if i should keep reseeding or let it die already.

Apologies for restoring a long-inactive thread:

I've been reading numerous topics on how to get my Langrisser 1 PC game to work and I'm sure I've followed the instructions correctly. I downloaded and used the Arigato patch (which is in the same directory as the executable). I have Daemon Tools and mounted the large BIN file to it. However, it still gives me the "Insert CD" error.

I deliberately patched drives other than what it was supposed to be patched to and I ended up getting error messages different than my current error, so that tells me the Arigato patch is working.

Now what I want to know is if I'm even mounting the game correctly. I installed the game, used the update patch, it was already set to run in Windows 98 compatibility mode, and I'm still getting errors. I have it mounted to the large BIN file, and I'm wondering if I'm doing it correctly since I used the Arigato patch to set the drive to the same virtual drive I'm using Daemon Tools for. I use Windows XP, by the way.

Again, I apologize for booting a dead thread, but I've done all kinds of searching to remedy this problem and I'm stumped. Thanks in advance

All I can tell you is that it's supposed to work. I played it about two years ago... sorry. Perhaps you'll have better luck with Daemon Tools' copy protection emulation options.
