technically, instead of saying "ur" it just drops subjects totally so you have to infer what it is, but its not hard. however, people say anta and kimi over Anata, and atashi (female and gays only say that it seems) instead of watashi.
Like in English, you say "hey, are you comming?"
in JP you say "Ne, itteru?" But you can still say "Kimi ga ikimasu ka" or something.
The "informal words" are as follows, tho it is most common to drop sub.:
You (omae, anta, kimi)
Me (Atashi(girls and gays only), boku (males only), ore (both, but mostly male)
As for using "r" instead of "are", it doesnt happen at all, because the japanese verb of existance: Desu (da, datta, deshita) is the only ways it is used. Also, as with subjects the verb of existance can be omitted. When you want to say "You're incredible" you can just say "sugoi~" or you can say "anata ga sugoi desu" but to contract sentances, they don't abbreviate words, they just drop them. lol
** note: Anta can be very tricky... cause it can also mean "dear" and the person who you are having a quarrel with. If you say anta to your girl/boy-friend, its a term of affection, like "hun" or "dear" but saying it to some asshole who just slammed into your car like "mo! anta wa baka!" it sounds like them fightin' words =\

there are some short forms used in conversational Jap:
~iru = ru
ex. sagashiteita = sagashiteta, tabeteiru = tabeteru
~nai = n
ex. kudaranai = kudaran
shikataganai = shouganai <- not sure of its derivation
~teoku = toku
ex. yameteoku = yametoku
~nakerebanaranai = nakya
ex. gambaranakerebanaranai = gambaranakya
particles like wo, wa, ga, ni, e can also be ommited at times, don't ask me when is the rule applicable, cause I am not sure myself
omae = ome
