No, no one can, bcuz only I got the same package. ;) I only stoped seeding for like 30mins to turn 94leecher into seeder for another game, so be patient I'm seeding now again (with more speed as before bcuz I got rid of the otehr game).

PS: Ya get this game for free, even right after it's release, so be patient :D

I'll maybe create a trainer for it like I did with the fighting game Battle Raper 2. I think this game is too hard, so a godmode, kill CPU, or special attack gauge max codes would be a great idea ^_^

I've just beaten this with Caster. :) Is it hard? I'm a fighting gamer though so opinions will vary. This game feels so professional despite having 6 characters. Much better than Fate/Sword DAnce which was mediocre and broken but it has nice music though.

Now if only they add True Assassin, Gilgamesh and Dark Saber.

*side note...I never played Fate/Stay Night but I know the characters but....who is the silent girl in FAte/Stay Night? :) CAster or Rider? I prefer types like Sion or Hisui.

My thougts are the same this game isn't thats hard (sure beserker is harder than lancer)i beat it with saber (nice 27 hits on beserker^^)and i only lost one life (so one round not a match)in my first game.But im a beat um up person so im my opinion this game is good eater way.And the music is good much better than Fate/Sword Dance.To bad there no secret chars and stages yet but maybe in later patches they will add some.(i hope so)

EDIT: About patches i did teh 102 patch but when click on the launcer a smal window apears (thats norma) but it keeps saying:[ Light's : FATAL/FAKE ] version 1.00. im i doing some thing wrong??

It's described in the Read Me file what ya have to do to install this important patch.

So ya think it's easy? I see... I only played it for like 8mins yet and I'm not used to keyboard-based Beat em Ups (yup me got no gamepad) ^_^

HOW TO PATCH THE GAME>>
Patch Informations//
The Patch patches a lot of data files, like specials effects and characteres files... to install a new patch (like 1.03 when it comes out), ya can be sure you must have 1.02 installed to use it.
In the instruction section you see what I did to make the patch work for me.

Instructions//

Im having a few problems with the game. It installed properly (i think), Ive installed the patch and even made sure my non-unicode is set to japanese, but the game still isnt working. It gets up to the part where the green 'versus' sign come up, then it just doesnt load. Any clue as to how I can fix it??

I get a Direct3D CreateDevice Failed error. I installed all my video card's latest drivers and installed it under Japanese, but still has the error. My video card is a 128 mb Geforce4 MX 4000

EDIT: I think I just need a new video card

u can have ur take ur eye blind thingy off during a fight, press C and V (at default controls) at the same time to have her use her time thingy (think Z and V works too, or was it X and V -___-)

The chararcter that removes her eye patch that Hijiko is referring to is Rider. It's her Breaker Gorgon - Self-Seal Dark Temple Noble Phantasm. It unleashes her Mystic Eyes ability onto the opponent.

Caster stays as she is with the hood and all. She's supposedly to be a really beautiful woman underneath which is unfortunate for those Caster lovers out there...

Ugh, for some reason when I start fighting, my comp goes blue screen. Bastard, wonder what's the problem? I have the most recent version if DirectX and all. Maybe I gotta try another computer

mine seem fine just when i fight they feel pretty sluggish, i feel i am fighting in slow motion :X and when i practice in the Training area its all fast as hell D:

Caster's "last arc" or whatever you call it removes a full life gauge. Just look at the "life symbol" beside the characters' names.

You'll see that out of 3 parts it has, one will be gone. (it does nothing in practice mode, however)

I'm having a little problem with the patching, where after it start patching for a little while it would say "You reset on the basis of the file job midway" (in japanese of course, translated using babelfish) and then it would stop patching. When I installed the game my non-unicode was in english, so im not sure if that why.

Skimpy, instal the game while your language setting is on Japanese. Applocale or temp 3rd party program solutions don't do the trick here.

You must install the original game under Japanese mode then patch the game in the same setting.

I've got this to work successfully following the above instructions.

Just wondering is there a glitch with Assasin ;X, cause i took out all of Lancer's life (up againsta wall) just by doing repeated move while i was playing in the Training mode and Lancer never even Recovered :X and it was set on Stand and recovery was on D:

I think theres just a bug in training mode. When I was in training mode with a rider, againest a saber and after pressing pause and unpause the saber just started attacking me and my rider wasn't even recovering well the saber was.

hmm ic, well after playign for another day i kind of liek Using Saber and Rider, i used assasin and doing his 214 C and looping it you can do about a 20+ hit ground combo which can take out most probably all of the characters life D: i did it while i was playing in arcade mode and it seemingly work well :X

mine doesn't even want to patch.... i just seem to get a ton of md5 errors when i run the patcher...

and since the patcher is just a self extracting thing... would it be possible to just manually patch via a zip file or something? =o

I fixed it. All i did was uninstalled all the old drivers for my nvidia card and installed the new ones (i think ver. 77.76)

Hi dvx, I've got a GeForce4 MX 4000 128 meg card, which I think is the same card as you have right? I've also encountered the "cannot create 3D object" error, and I've updated my drivers (uninstalled nvidia drivers and reinstalled the latest ones, although the website gave me 77.77). Did you still have to configure anything to get the game to work? Because mine still have the same error.

This game looks good, but I can't seem to get it to run properly.

Installation and patching were successful, but after loading the game and selecting characters, it just hangs on the Vs. screen. Any ideas on what to try?

thats insane! the most hits i pulled off during arcade mode is 20hits ... got 28 in training mode XD but that doesnt really count ...

finished the game ... the only guy i had problems against was berserk ... he's got SOO much HP .. and one of his combos takes 1/4 to 1/2 of my lifebar T_T

btw, offtopic: how do you get that download/upload/ratio counter under your names??

i think its when u dl somethign from Hongfire and it will auto do it of how much u uploaded and how much u dl it. but i ono if it is working right now. :X

the most combo i pulled with saber was 34 and the most i did with Rider was only 12-13 >.> and Assasin i did around 20+ maybe more cause i did full life dmg, which i am not sure if that was even possible cause the cpu didn't even recovered or had signs of recovering D:

Lovely, I just hope the gameplay is good, I sure wish they made some more of this. Without the hentai part would be fine though, mostly gameplay in fighter hentai games suck. I wish there was more stuff for pc like guilty gear, but then with these graphics :). Played melty blood a bit, but I didn't understand anything of it, so uninstalled it, maybe I'm missing out, anyone know of some other fighters for pc?

Eto chrrox OS Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 is WinXP Pro Services Pack 2.
Most proberly is his graphics card that can;t handle those shader stuff.
Maybe time for an upgrade. ^^;

You don't necessarily have to go with a different brand of grapics card. ATI is just as good but I would suggest upgrading to a newer model. 9200 is low end in terms of graphic cards standards, plus you have an SE version. Vid-card fanatics label that as the "Sucky Edition", just like any nVidia products with an LE is the "Lame Edition." Not to be mean or anything, or to make you cough up a lot of cash, but I personally think it's worth investing on a fairly decent graphics card (anything that's mid-range to high-end) because you'll know it'll last for at least several years.

Btw, I don't know if its your graphics card that's causing the problem, but I just felt like putting my two cents regarding the card issue.

Edit: Wow, I just read somewhere that ATI 9200 SE doesn't even support DirectX 9, which is pretty much needed in just about every 3D accelerated game out there.

OPk, help please! I just installed a new graphics card, namely a GeForce FX 5500, and now I'm getting some sort of error when trying to start the game. The only words I can make out are "DirectX runtime", "[9.0]" and "[9.0c]" so I'm guessing it has something to do with DirectX, but I have it up to date with 9.0c so what's the problem? Any ideas? ~_~

The 5500 can not handle shaders you need a 5700 or above to handle shaders.

this game got more than +10 seeders. Download a client with multiple tracker support such as BitComet or Azureus.

If ya already have such a client, switch to the Datorrents tracker for seeders.

Has anyone recieved the "Direct3D CreateDevice Failed" message? I mean, I know I have a GeForce2 MX200 with 32MB VRAM, and yes, that's lame, but no game up to now entirely refused to run. If there was any problem, they would run slow, but not refuse to run... From what I know, GeForce2 cards support at least DirectX 8.1, but I'm using DX 9.0c... do you guys know whether or not my videocard is the problem? Well, I'm guessing it is, but, you know, it sounds like a very "average" error, not an specific error like "Your card does not support 'X' feature...," etc.

No, GeForce 2 and 4 cards only go up to DX7 shaders. Emphasis on the shaders.

Your version of DirectX is the latest, which is all well and good, but your hardware doesn't support DX8 shaders and what not, so I suggest getting a better card. At the very least a 9600xt.

Wait, this game has H scenes/CGs?

I do not believe there is any Hentai content, since I finished the game in Arcade mode with 3 of the 7 characters available: Archer, Lancer, and Saber and I have seen no picture of any kind or any kind of H scene after defeating all 6 opponents to just see the boring ending credits flash by. Still this game is a good fighting game, and worth spending a few hours on. If someone wants a good fighting and H content game as well they must play BATTLE RAPER by Illusion.

Yep, I'm seeding this baby.

A GeForce 4 MX lacks the shaders, so just on and off. But hey, at least you can play it. And applocale only works if you have the language pack required installed on your PC.

Reinstall the game in Japanese Region Settings, Put 1.02 Patch and 1.10 patch into Fatal/Fake folder. Install 1.02 patch, install 1.10 patch.

Yeah the game is pretty hard. The computer just goes crazy. I have beat it with Archer or ranger I forget. Rider and Saber. You pretty much have to just wait for an opening and then combo the hell out of them. Beating the game with Berzerker is damn near impossible. If his launcher was faster then It would be more feasible but he is just so slow it almost always gets blocked. It seems the new patch made the game even more difficult.

Play dirty. It's your only hope.

Really for me the main problem is the controls. It's like the input buffer is too long. With Rider I like to do her launcher a lot but a lot of times the wrong move will just come out depending on the combo I do to set it up.

The game is kinda hard, but what really tires me out is that the 4 command spells must be wiped.
4 rounds, ugh.

In the most current version 1.10 or whatever it's set up like a normal fighting game and is harder. Best 2 out of 3 etc. The command spell thing is still there but it works for alpha combo and burst type moves.

The command signs are now used to unleash a sort of "zero counter" that inerrupts the combo of the enemy. It's done by pressing C+D or B+D while you're comboed, and it consumes a command sign and part of the fury gauge too...

easier yet: change the options to 10% vital and easiest mode

beat first 3 chars perfect in arcade, and in the 4th battle hasan will appear. there u need to beat him, no need perfect kill [careful, strike all the way, don't give him a chance to hit u. with 10%vital, even if your enemy guards, the damage will still be quite big]

I think it was already posted, but the new patch include some tweaks, and it brings back side move [down down] that was not there in 1.10. it also enable us to set enemy difficulty to SIX levels: five dots that will represent easy to hard and one hardest mode after the fifth dot: FATAL
other updates are not not big enough to be distinguished ^^

as long as japanese unicode is installed, I think it should be file. From the first time I installed japanese unicode to my PC I've not been getting any problem at all... the latest patches can be found from this site: http://www.lights-maguro.com/product/ff_patch.html

The one with smaller size is update from 1.10->1.11. the bigger one... I'm not quite sure, but it should be update from v.1.00?

This game is tough. When the computer uses the command spell, they can do a continuous combo that hits you at least 20 times. I got that from Hasan, Saber and Archer so far, but i can't imitate it.

good that u got 20 combo only... I experienced 55 combo from Caster. I was rule-broken and got my command spells disabled so I can't counter.... btw I played with 300% vital, so 55hit is possible

Oh..self buff I know. When U are hitting a combo, say, Z -> X -> C, then u press V + Z, and it will activate, U will have the red glowing trail, but you must comtinue hitting with the combo and cannot stop. Once you stop, the red glow is gone, which is why it's very hard to practice. If you get the hang of it. let me know. cheers

Doing combos in this game is very simple if you ask me, especially with Saber. In fact, Saber is by far the most unbalanced character in the game (I bet Lights is playing favorites with her) cause she has the most simple 40+ hit combo in the game. I wont tell how ya do it though due to its something I made up. Just know that it revolves around ES specials & Fate Cancels (aka Arc Cancels).

Gilgamesh is a ass though. Oh well.

Simple, when Rider throws off the shades/visor (whatever), she slows down time. In other words, your opponent moves much slower than usual giving Rider a slight speed advantage for a very brief amount of time.

Saber = All types of play can be used for Saber thus is why she's so unbalanced

Archer = Range Play Mostly but when close up go for short combos and back off

Rider = Close Range Speed Play but mix it up with her range throws and close grapple moves but abuse her popup abilities cause they can make for good combos

Caster = Pure Range with Aerial Play (meaning, you can play keep away with her flight ability)

Lancer = Fast combo play with mix-ups

Berserker = Pure power play with grapples (Since he's the Juggernaut of the bunch and it takes a few hits to stop him after he initiates an attack, abuse this as much as possible but stay defensive)

Assassin = Use mid-range game play with counters since his attack speed is kinda slow and his attacks have quite a bit of delay due to the animation frame rate

Gilgamesh = I don't know what to say about this guy. He's cheap but slow & powerful with no real combo potential and since his sword rain attack gives him quite an advantage since he can attack while its going on, abuse it. Also, his Iron Hammer is unblockable most of the time, abuse that also.

These are from my experiences only but you can easily come up with your own style of play with these characters although in Berserker's case, his style of play that I suggested is about as accurate as you can get with him as well as Caster unless someone can prove me wrong. But everyone else can easily have their styles changed depending on the situation. As I keep stating though, Saber is totally unbalanced due to the fact that she has just about everything: Speed, Power, Popup & Combo Potential, & great mixup potential when using her Fate Cancel. As you can tell, Saber is my 1st favorite with Rider & Archer coming in 2nd.

hm... I play saber with speed and low combo, archer mostly long range, caster with aerial is the most unbalanced: when u fly, the magic gauge didn't dry off, use all kind of magic, preferrably the land magic and the ice fall magic, and u can kill everyone easily.
my saber generally can be beaten by assassin and lancer... btw saber's blow is quite low damage, but when u unleash the excalibur, that's 7k damage. yes excalibur is my fav special attack there. Archer's excalibur deals only 6.3k, I think?
btw Hassan is also very unbalanced, he can throw daggers very easily. range play is the style for hassan players
I don't play berserker because of his extra low speed [though godlike damage]
I usually play with 5 difficulty, and it's very HARD >.<
btw what do u mean by popup ability?

Popups = attacks that general does as the name says, it launches your opponent into the air for you to do air combos and such.

As for Saber damage capabilities, it depends on which style you play her as. If you have her with the Sword of Wind enchant, her damage is lowered a bit but her combo cap is raised above anyone else but when doing very high combos that go from 35+, the damage is great. If you play her without the Sword of Wind enchant, Sabers damage ability is raised at the risk of losing her max combo potential (to be honest, this isn't really a lose at all).

zoagan, Chairman Zhang, you can download the patches for free in the game's official website. The full 1.00->1.11 patch is the one that says "Download FATAL/FAKE Update Patch v1.11　[26,484,084Byte]", it's 26MB but it works for all versions...

I love all noble phantasm specials. I'm playing 1.11, and they all seem right out of the anime (haven't played the original game, but I guess they were the same). I rarely use them in actual play, the only one I use frequently is Gaebolg (unblockable and not too expensive...).

But I have lots of fun with them in training mode, specially with Archer's UBW (i wonder if there's any way to lose a fight after activating it... considering that you have unlimited free gaebolgs and one free excalibur when you enter UBW mode...).

And I love the look of Rider's-Assassin's hair, although it clips constantly through the character model's back... oh well, it's still bloody rich for a doujin game.

What is the exact effect of that Rider's special in which she stabs her neck?

...the smaller one is for people with 1.10 already. It's a 1.10 -> 1.11 patch

...the larger one is for people who have a version before 1.10. This is a full patch and will update any version to 1.11.

By the way... about Rider... she's my favorite character, but how are you supposed to play with her against Saber? Grabs are ineffective 'cause Saber never stands still, and if you try to do popup combos or throw the chain, she quite often blocks/dodges and immediately performs a 9+ hit combo on you. The only thing that's kinda effective is to catch Saber in mid-jump and perform an aerial combo, but it's very difficult to get the right timing. Guard-breakers work well too, but if you fail, you'll be left wide open for her combos.

And again, does anybody know what's the effect of Rider's "blood barrier" (when she stabs her neck)?

When i use rider, i go crazy since most of her attacs dont have to much lag.
So i usually dash around saber and try to get a low medium hit in(Rider slides on the floor)
then i think its 2 high hard hits, Rider does two kicks that mkaes saber air borne,
then be really quick, like the second u connect with the last kick, input the chain grab, if ur craft input super chain grab^_^.
It worked for me, oh and if u dont connect with the low medium, dash back and around saber again.
Its funny fighting berserk with Rider, he dashes so many times and i just chain grab him.

And about the blood barrier, sorry, i dont even know how to do ANY noble phantasms.
gotta look at the manual or sumthin><. Hope i was helpful.

EDIT:I think riders blood barrier allows her to use her noble phantasm special even after she puts the blinder back on.
so it is kinda like a lil extension to the special mode. But her attacks are not as devastating with blinder on.

and for Zoagan, i will explain exactly what i did to install:
mount image, game installs(well u got that far i suppose><)
then i used the update that came with torrent.
then i downloaded the regular v1.11(it only does update from v1.10 to v1.11)
seeing that it didnt work, i got the v1.11 all updater thing.
used it and it worked.
All of this id one with japanese region settings.

As I stated in my last few posts, Saber is so unbalanced that she makes the game so unfair at times. All I can say is be quick against her since she doesn't moving for no one in the game. Im a Saber player and believe me, your lucky she doesn't do the combos that I pull off with her, pulling 41+ hit combos can hurt.... a lot.

When playing with Rider or Saber, ya gotta keep moving since they mostly have speed on their gameplay style and combos galore. The only problem with their combos, ya gotta be quick with them, EXTREAMLY QUICK & PRECISE!!

Hmmmm.....don't know. I didn't play it much when 1.10 came out but when 1.11 came out, I just went straight to it so I can't help you much on this. The game needs more characters........Gilgamesh as the only hidden character blows and he sucks as well.

I just played this game and have some questions, perhaps they've been answered already, but I don't feel like browsing trough 20 pages of replies, so bear with me.

1-Is there a final boss? I beated the game in Arcade mode and just faced the regular opponents, no boss at all.
2-Is it supposed to take 5 KOs to beat a CPU character?
3-Move list? ;_;, the one included with the game doesn't work, the arrows won't display in the HTML file.
4-Are there any hidden character? If so, how do I unlock them? ;_;

If you're running an earlier version (pre-1.10):
1. There is no boss
2. You will need to pull 5 KOs (life bar/round system as per Killer Instinct)
3. Got Unicode support?
4. Not in this version

If you're running 1.10+:
1. Gilgamesh will be the last character you fight
2. Life bar/round system has changed to a more traditional one (Street Fighter, Gulity Gear, etc.)
3. Got Unicode support?
4. 1.10+ has Hassan (True Assassin) and Gilgamesh as unlockable charcters. Read through the thread to find out how...

I'll upload a copy to megaupload for you. Note that if you don't install the game with your windows region set to Japanese and eastern language support installed, the patch doesn't seem to like you x.x; It stalls at 0.0% for me, because my version of Windows XP (Media Center Edition) didn't come on a disc, it came pre-installed, which means I can't install eastern language support. Oh how lame! If anyone has the time to upload the i386\lang folder, I'd totally dig it. Meanwhile, I'll start work on uploading the full patch to megaupload.com now, my connection's slow, so it should be done in about an hour.

Okay, I'm sorry for being clueless, it's just that generally I just throw the game cd into the CDROM drive and then I'm good to go.

I don't have any DVD-roms lying around, so I tried to burn it to a normal CD-R as a Data CD using Nero Express (I'm such a n00b!). Anyhow, I'm not sure what files I'm supposed to put on the CD, do I just put FATALFAKE.cue, the whole folder, or what? Because I don't have an install.DAT in the file I downloaded for some reason, and gaaah I'm just so confused :confused:

Sorry for all the trouble, I really am a stupid noob when it comes to these kinds of things.

hmm i installed it, and patched....i did what the guide told me to do, the green bar didnt move but it the texts below moves and all.

when i click (c), it closes. however the game is not patched, its still v 1.00 ><.

got any ideas?? lol i beat the game btw and it was after that i realised it was v 1.00 ><

I used to have the same problem. This is how I solved it:

1. Try to make it patch. After the text stops, look from anything that looks like a path. Mine was C:\Fatal-Fake\bin\FF.exe

2. Cut, and paste your entire Fatal/Fake folder where the path states in step 1. In my case, I copied it over to C:\

3. Patch. It should work fine now.

If you want to, you can cut and paste the folder back to where ever it originally came from. No problems will occur from that.

I also have a problem with this game. I've downloaded and installed the game with no problems. Installed the patch with no problems.
But the game itself is drop dead slow. And when I finally managed to get it to exit, it crashes and a have to get rid of it via task manager.

Anyone got any clues?

it look like i have missing files in "C: \Program Files\Lights\FATALFAKE\manual\command\image\_notes \ command"
but i dident delete anything :( i reinstalled and same thing)

EDIT:: i downloaded the missing files from a friend (few jpg) and it work they seem to be the cause :(

FranRanpha, there are several ways to make it run faster. Drop back to using Shader Ver. 1.1, Resolution at 512 x 512, switch off shadows, lower your software vertex processing. All of the above should be able to enhance your game performance, I think. Give it a go and see how it turns out. :P

Reinstall the game in Japanese Region Settings, Put 1.02 Patch and 1.10 patch into Fatal/Fake folder. Install 1.02 patch, install 1.10 patch.
That's what I did and it works.

I tried changing to Japanese Region Settings, but I couldnt find Japanese in it. ( and I tried to install the "Install files for East Asian Language" but it says I need some kind of CD), Is there any other way ? Any help is appreciated. =)

Yes, you need the windows xp cd :p. Dont know if you can download the languages from somewhere though, but just pop in your xp cd and it should install them :p

Guess there's no other options, but hey, I found the CD, thanks for answering the question. =)

Oh, and I read something in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilgamesh_%28Fate/stay_night%29, in the Role section. I found another Servant, a Rider-class named Iskandar (or Alexander, if you just hover the mouse on the name). Seems that Gilgamesh beat Iskandar before he fought with Saber. Too bad Iskandar isn't shown in the game/story =)

Since I don't have an asian font as part of my windows, all I see are just random symbols. Do I need all the previous versions (like 1.02) to run the 1.13?
I run the updater, I get a window with unknown text with only one option, so I click it. Then I get a window with a yes or no option. I click yes, but only text appears under the loading window. Nothing loads. Can anyone help?

You have to install the original game AND the patch under Japanese Windows. And you have to make sure you have the 1.13 ALL patch.

I've noticed as I still try to install the 113 All patch that the window that opens calls it an update patch for 100 to 102. What's up with this?

And I've accidentally lost the patch for 102 because of this problem, so I'm stuck at 100.

I've looked around ... and can't find the original file. I'd have to redownload the entire thing just to try agin. :(

Forget it. I never really played it all that much anyways. I could never get the sound to work properly either. Sometimes the audio would just stop and the whole game would mute. Sword Dance is better anyways. And Hinokakera is a better 3D fighter than this. I tried, I failed, life goes on. Game deleted.

But thanks for all the advice anyways.
