Da vinci code oh no.*bangs head to wall*. You do realise that the book is not acurate, some facts can be true but alot is fiction as well. In other worth just some fantasy book.

I am mostly reading newspapers and manga. I have to read more books I know but lately I don't have much time for it.

I just finished reading:
Count of Monte Cristo (guess why :D)
Dr.Jekyl and Mr. Hyde (awesome book, only like 100 pages, + 200 pages of other materials stuff which is also very interesting)

I suggest Monte Cristo to anyone who's watching the anime, since book has more... stuff to it.

Dr.Jekyl and Mr. Hyde to anyone who likes stories of multiple personalities, and the balance of good and evil.

Currently debating on reading/reading:

Crime and Punishment(Fyodor Dostevsky)
Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte)
Lord of the Flies(ugh! school book)

Erm... I'm currently reading a book called El Viaje De Marcos (The Voyage Of Marcos). It's about a teenager called Marcos that makes a good friendship with Alex, another kid of his town, but he soon realises that his friendship is not only related to that. He will have to face his true identity against himself and against the society of the spanish '70s. :)

Currently reading R.R. Martin's Song of Fire and Ice series; on A Clash of Kings. Makes Forgotten Realms look like children's stories. Incredible novels. Any fan of fantasy owes it to themselves to start reading this series. Unless you're under 14...I approve! Best fantasy books ever. Not like the lame fantasy by Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, etc. (sorry to all fans of them, but I don't like their books), but really good stuff. Very detailed and many layered, a good story (covers all from intrigues to adventure) and great characters (not so black and white as in most other (hero)-fantasy books). The setting is for fantasy fairly realistic and reminds of medieval England to the times of the Wars of the Roses. It's pretty dark and grim, the family that plays the central role in the plot gets really owned ...
Highly recommendable!

I like fantasy books (Forgotten Realms), but since i've finished my whole collection....(waiting for new books by Elaine Cunningham and Mr. Salvatore), ...I like Elaine Cunningham's books, but R.A. Salvatore's recent works where plainly boring.

I prefer to read books. I agree with KidSteel and BombasticDevil, George R.R. Martin is a superb author. I can't wait till July when vol. 4 is released. I recommend to anyone who likes Martin to also check out Steven Erikson's Malazan series. It may not be as good as A Song of Ice and Fire, but it is still an excellent series that is well worth checking out. Especially if you like a very militaristic book with a lot of magic. I think vol. 1 is available in the US and possibly vol. 2 as well. Otherwise you'll have to order from the UK (can be done through Amazon). As for right now, I'm reading "Pandora's Star" by Peter F. Hamilton. Hamilton is another one of my favorite authors, ranking up there with George R.R. Martin. Any SF fan who likes a big, complex plot, with realistic characters, set in a world as realistic as our own should read Hamilton's books.

@Mawaya no kami: I have read the first book of the Malazan series (Gardens of the Moon), but I didn't like it too much. The story was a bit confusing and aimless. And constantly are new persons and entities popping up out of nowhere, one more mighty than the other. Exaggerated is an understatement. ^^

Hamilton is one of my favourite sci-fi authors. I have read his Night's Dawn Trilogy (I think it's split into six books in the U.S.), very long but absorbing.

Not really reading anything at the moment though, I'm fairly picky. There's a british guy called Iain Banks who really impresses me, hopefully he'll come out with some new stuff in the "Culture" series. It's pretty good fantasy, not the adventure-type fantasy, but with more emphasis on character development and storyline (a lot of intrigues and power-mongering). If you like George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, you should give West's books a try.

I'm re-reading the Peter F. Hamilton space opera (my personal opinion is it is the best one I've ever read) series that starts with "The Reality Disfunction, Book One: Emergence". Then after reading the 5 paperbacks that make up the rest of the series I'll be able to have a social life again. :D

This series has one of the best conceptions of what death is I have ever seen, with one of the most tightly woven plots (involving not just a very large cast of characters, but multiple planets, asteriods, spaceships, etc. as well.) dealing with politics, philosophy, religion, etc. but also having plenty of action to drive the story successfully where it needs to go. You can find out more about the story at amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0446605158?v=glance) where you will find many reviewers had frustrations with it. You'll have to make up your own mind. I personally found it more engaging then The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Foundation series, and many other long series stories. I don't compare series books to single volume novels (of which there are also a very good examples)...

Whoops. Got into review mode. :)

Note: The series was 3 volumes in hardcover, but had to be put in 6 paperbacks when converted. Here is the total list of paperbacks if your interested:

The Reality Disfunction, Book One: Emergence
The Reality Disfunction, Book Two: Expansion
Neutronium Alchemist, Book One: Consolidation
Neutronium Alchemist, Book Two: Conflict
The Naked God, Book One: Flight
The Naked God, Book Two: Faith

Reading the Worthing Saga by Orson Scott Card. Shame on me for letting this sit on my bookshelf so long unread.

The Worthing Saga? Damn, that was a good book. It's a shame I've never read Ender's Game.

My "travel in the car" book is currently Faerie Wars, by Herbie Brennan. My "lunchbreak reading" book is currently English Home Life 1500-1800. And my "don't feel like doing anything after work" book is Model: The Ugly Business of Beautiful Women by Michael Gross. They're all pretty good, each in their own way. I don't like reading two fiction books simultaneously, but I don't have that problem with nonfiction. Guess which one is the fiction. ;o)

Ender's game is an incredible book and you should definitely get around to reading it. Ender's Shadow is also excellent. But none of their sequels felt the same to me...they were very different kinds of books, and that disappointed me.

I just finished reading The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy. I like classics.

Classics make up almost everything I read. :)

I think the sequels can't catch the feeling of the first book, because they don't feature this short-story style anymore and, of course, don't have the element of suprise in the end.

I am actually reading five different books, all out of my enjoyment, of course. The names are Timber Press Pocket Guide to Shade Perennials, Perennial Combinations, Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Perinnials, Growing 101 Herbs that Heal, & Horticulture: Principles & Practices Second Edition. I'm a Horticultural Science major in college & these books that I bought for myself are excellent reference guides for me & for what I plan on doing. They're also great for finding the right plants to put in the small space I've got to use as a garden. :)
