NEEEDD HELP from any HACK master

Hello anyone.
I've got the Lab comp and would like to download the Torrent and of course then seed them back because the use of PC is FREE, the speed is about 600 kb/s, BUT there is some kind of defense or blocker that allows to install the P2P software and torrent softaware BUT the speed never goes higher than 1 kb/s download at least. And this restriction is allover the university, Any lab for open use has it. THAT SUXXX a lot.
Does anyone has an idea how can I overcome/passby the defense?

PS. I'm not really a hacker myself but let's say I'm an advanced user.

Try using other ports on your BT client. Maybe your university is blocking the standard ports.

BTW we have an internal proxy does it mean anything?
And can I set the port that http protcol uses, because there is the highest speed. (if it makes scence at all)

You need to know the name of the firewall that is blocking it.
Use google and type in: "bypass firewall"

Yes that normal it's where all the cache goes so they know exactually what site(S) you have visited.

just set the port to any above 9000 or something and below 47557

Umm ,if those damned admins block ALL ports EXCEPT the 80 port :( ,Try the animesuki tracker ,its port is 443 ,and hope ur uni doesnt block this port too :D

changing the port isn't going to do anything. The port setting is for your side of the connection. The Filtering hardware that is keeping your transfer rate low is looking at the out bound connections only. In sort changing the port number does jack.

becuse it's quite hard for me to figure out myself
with hopster it asks for the proxy server and i have no idea where to get it from
I figured it out with ports but still have no proxy It asks for.

BTW the worst part is that the "new software" is limited to 1 GIG even if it says 63gig free, they have the Centurion gurad card installed and whole new info is deleted everytime I rebood the PC. And it lock on a key a real one made of metal... that is also bad....

If I caoud I would seed Biko 1,2,3; Sexy beach 2 +exp Chiku Chiku; Des blod; Dancing cats and some others don't remember... sad for H community and for me...

Now that you surely are tired of changing ports and whatnot, i'll let you on a little secret - companies like to use application detection, which all newer routers definitely are supporting - that means, their routers examine IP packets for specific application signature and based on that they're throttling your bandwidth. It's easy to setup even at home EVEN using software routers including linux-based transparent proxies. I doubt you'll beat that.

Also it is not wise to go up aganist the ITs at Universitys. they are sometime waaaaaaaay smarter then you plus they can also ban u from using the comps and maybe even kiking you out. they will find out that u are dling and seeding anime bcuz of the sudden increase in dl and upload. it will make them very curious. also trying to hack your way through just so you can watch your fav anime is pretty stupid cuz u might cause a network shutdown bcuz some unknown person hacked the system and made them shut it down. so yeah. basicly don't do it but if u happene to do it and not get caught, all the more power to you. so yeah.

your university most likly use a packateer to filter the packets. Just to tell you its useless because your packets are being monitored. That is why BT is limited same as kazaa and those other P2P software. Its to keep the bandwidth free from P2P programs cause they eat alot of bandwidth.

If your uni see alot of bandwidth comming from one comp they will do the smack down on it.

If you had i cisco router in your room you could get around the filtering but they would notice your bandwidth consumption and most likely ban you as You most likely had to sign an agreement to not use such programs. not to mention the cheapest cisco router is 400+ dollars with a discount membership.
