Hi all,
I was just wondering what wasthe biggest lesson you got form your life so far.
I think we all lived long enough to have gotten something form life.
For me, the biggest lesson i ever learned was that there are people in the world who are worth loving, people who are worth sacrifices, and people who can you can really trust.
I don't know, i thought for a long time (especially during my teens) that people in the world were rotten, and that this world was doomed to fail, but then i met people i who gave me the will to live again. People who redefined the meaning of my life. And my life changed form that moment. and i'm thanful for that. And that 't the best thing i learned form my life so far.

What I have learnt as I have matured...
I've learnt that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.
I've learnt that no matter how much I care, some people are just assholes.
I've learnt that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
I've learnt that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better have a big willy or huge boobs.
I've learnt that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.
I've learnt that you can keep vomiting long after you think you're finished.
I've learnt that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.
I've learnt that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there had better be a lot of money to take its place.
I've learnt that 99% of the time when something isn't working in your house, one of your kids did it
I've learnt that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.
Edit: I didn't write that by the way, just been keeping it for a long time since most of it is so true. ;)

Frosty, you say it the best ! (agree on most of it.)
TheException, i think you must have met some good people in your life. (lucky you)
For me, the biggest thing i just realised now, is that "Laziness can only ruin you".
Having said that, i want to hereby make a resolution to work harder at everything i do this year.

I've learnt, that everything will eventually fade out and disappear, returning to the void. Thus making life such a peculiar thing.

I have learned a few things up until now.
I learned that I would help my friends with all my effort and not expect anything in return. Not getting anything in return after helping someone out shouldn't prevent me from ever helping again.
I also laerned that I cannot always look at someone's bad side. I must look at someone as a whole, with the good and bad sides.
And the last most important thing is: Happiness doesn't come to me, I have to search for it myself. An example of this would be love.
I used to think that everything comes to me without doing anything and that was proven to me wrong quite harshly.

its not that i've learned something, but more from the fact of how i dealt with my knowledge of that life sucks hard. my life has been pretty messed up than most, but also better than some people. with that, i basically equate life to a poker game: u can play with the hand ur dealt with (life), or u can fold, but u may or many not get another hand. obviously, some people will get a better hand, some people will get worse, but that's how life is. i've known some people that didn't get dealt a great hand, they folded, and they may not get a second chance...who knows. i didn't get dealt a great hand either but i'm not folding.
I've learned some other lessons but i think that's the most important since that's what drives me the most.

Well, I agree with all the others. In my case, I've learned a few things:
- When I was in school, I always were the target of the bad guys, so I never opened my friendship to nobody, except for those who was suffering the same as me. But now I know that I can't judge nobody for what has said or done, and never think that I'm alone... that there's some people who cares for me.
- The other one is that I didn't have the strength of believe in myself, or to be proud of who I am or the things I like. Now I am... and it's much better that way, I can reach my goals easier than before.
- Always be so simple and faithful to the Truth. Lies only makes anger grow on you.
-Oh! there is one last. I use to be pessimist and negative a few years ago. That only makes life a horrible way of sadness. Now I always look at the things in a positive mood and be optimist in the difficult times.
Well... I have much more to learn, but that's what I've learned so far.

Frosty made some very good points :p :D in a funny way but he is so right!!
I learned that there are also good people in the world. Just like you exception I also thought that the world was rotten when I was in my teens. I never had any real friends. But when I matured I realized there where also nice and trusted people.
I also learned that it is good that there is not only love in the world. This may sound strange but like frosty said: I've learnt that you can keep vomiting long after you think you're finished. Some people are such assholes it's unbelievable. I also learned that nothing is impossible and to always be happy in your life.

*kill Dis with an axe* :D
reason : each time someone start thinking like that, they make it more difficult to live, for the few people with enough brain to search for peace and freedom. Avoiding the lowlife's traps and plans is really a waste of time.

I've learned that, more than anything, it's imperitive that you be true to yourself. I'm not talking about that sappy 'be yourself' type stuff that everyone spouts and noone truly follows, I'm talking about serious self honesty: keeping no secrets from your own mind, denying nothing, allowing yourself no self-deception. It's...easier that way, in the end, trying to compromise yourself for the sake of others only causes suffering. Kidding myself about several things earlier in life eventually left me broken, scared and confused... I don't intend to set myself on that course ever again. I'm not very mentally stable, and I know I'm not a perfect person by any means but...I won't deny it anymore, not any of it.
Aside from that...uh... Money is overrated, blood is only thicker than water literally, not figuratively, and a career is not your life: unless you let it become your life, your job remains, however strenuous, merely a means of financing the lifestyle that you choose.

wow... i havent really thought about that... but i have to say, i did learn a few tricks up my sleeve :) lol. i have learned that in order to survive, you must be aggressive and always shoot for the best, otherwise, your stuck. then i learned that life is really a game! lol, maybe in God's eyes!!! lol. i guess, you cant have everything you want, you cant always count on somebody everytime, and words hurt. yea... thats about it.

4.) And to get ahead, you need a true purpose...

stuff I learned:
a lot of things I don't really need to know but wich are still fun to know
almost all things can be set on fire given time and proper equipment (I have a pyromaniac rep to keep :p), some smell funny though
nothing should be taken completely seriously
life is fun :D, if you want it to be :p
being friendly gets you friends :p, friends get you other stuff, most of the time it costs you nothing to be friendly
all things are funny in a way :p
most people are quite amusing the first hour :p
carpets create dust
if you dive, make sure all clothing is firmly attached, unless you want it to come of ;)
there is limit on how many oranges your digestive system can take in one day
rope is versatile and very fun to play with :p

Damn... Firli has learned a lot more in life than I have :p
Let's see...
1. Make your own planning, or else it will go wrong ^_^ (which sums down to 'trust only yourself)
2. Gassoline will create a nice fire (Yep... same pyro rep as Firli :D)
3. Your work should be fun or else your going down a one-way road to boredom... (which sums down to 'LIFE NEEDS TO BE FUN!')
4. Anime totally ROCKS! \o/ (which contributes in the Life being fun part :p)
5. Music is essential to my life (ditto... YaY Fun!)

2) trust is good, but dont give it unless you get it

5) theres nothing wrong with getting turned on by pain

I imagine to have learned that everything is expanding. Not just as in 'matter expanding
into the void' sense, but as in all things. They don't come together, they just blow up!
(no, damn you, keep away with that canister now...) Take almost any thing. Any idea
or construct or philosophy. Whatever. Its not coming together as a few neat lines
finishing it up. No. Its just getting more and more complicated and messy and awful,
and once you learn something, road doesn't close from there but the pits open up.
You imagine getting rid of one final frontier and find 7 more.

I've learned that there are people who love you yet rather hurt you.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they spend money and the way they drive a car.
I've learned that nothing is hard to destroy.
I've learned that one should aim higher than they ever thought possible.
I've learned never to forgive unless you actually want to forgive that person.
I've learned that you should always trust your instincts.
I've learned that your family is your number one enemy.
I've learned that throwing alcohol on things and watch them burn is fun.

actualy I have no idea what I really learned, I learned how to draw, write, read, calculate.
learned history, learned basic emotions, to love, to hate.
I've learned so much, I can't say wich one is the most important, cause I use a lot of these knowledge in my everyday, everyminute life.
There are some complex things about life that I've learned, wich almost made my mind brake, and still aren't complete, stuff wich some people wouldn't care that much about knowing.
But I attach my value to it.

- to cook a decent meal.
- to admit my faults. (that's a contradiction ... d'oh!)
- to wake up in a good mood in the morning.
- to watch more than two animes at the same time.
No guarantee for the completeness of this list! :p

It's impossible to watch anime 48h strait - I passed out after 34th (or 35th?) hour.
You can always have your job done by someone else, it's just that it sometimes requires more effort to find and convince the sucker then to do it yourself.
Love can't be bought but you need some money to maintain it.
Don't lend money to your sister.
Sometimes things just don't work out, no matter how hard you try.
Sometimes things do work out no matter how much you don't care about it.
Don't put your dog into the washing machine.
Making a dog run after the bone you threw is far easier than making him bring it back to you.
Staying up late, browsing your favorite forum instead of going to sleep when you have oral German exam in the morning isn't the wise thing to do...

Yes well thats all fine and dandy if your a Jedi in Star Wars :p, but in the real world people are constantly being hurt by others which in turn leads to hatred. But i dont see how hating others leads to you being more miserable. To be quite honest, im a miserable person, i couldnt care less if i die tomorrow, but i dont feel that way due to my hatred towards others. I feel that way because of the person ive become and that i dnot see things getting better, has nothing to do with my feelings towards others. But then again im sure some ppl may be miserable because they hate ppl.

Yeah... I guess so... but then again, I agree with Hito more...
If you think about it... even though it maybe true... it's kinda woven throughout human nature. Revenge is powerful is a emotion. Like the time/thread when the mother killed her own daughter... did you feel hatred against the mother? And what did it cause? In my case, it caused me to pick a side... because hatred and even "dislike" makes up a good portion of our personality. And thus humans were made to suffer in misery.
Hatred makes up a person, but yet it also inevitable...
But then again you were just stating something so everything I just posted could be blown right out :D:o

I think it's much easier to run away and hate, than do deal with problems you may have with people. Love takes a lot of effort. A lot of constant effort. Hate is the easy path.
Hate however is needed, because our time on earth is limited and we can't be everywhere at the same time. We have to take easy escapes sometimes and "hate".
Knifes is right when he says that it makes up a person. When you think about someone, you immeditately think about things he likes and things he doesn't. But i also think that hatred is over-used. Some people say "I hate 90% of the world" (:p*glances at oink37*) and that is just too much. If you want to hate, then hate all the punching-balls in the world and make it a personal business to hit them as hard as you can whenever you see any. :D
If you have to hate someone, hate yourself for not being able to make changes. Hating others is useless (well...unless it can make you lose weight^^). You can't just change people. You have to change yourself first.
I've learned that a person is smart, quick on their feet and quick to think in a certain situation, but people are stupid, panicy, and only think of their selfs. ~Men In Black

I think again I differ in definition of hatred :p. I don't care about 90% of the population, hating would mean I'd rather see them being hurt than being fine, but I don't care :p. Now, it would probably be better if they weren't hurt and all be happy-go-lucky people :D.

Maybe one of the biggest lessons I learnt is that parents CAN and DO have defaults. And that you don't have to worship them (especially dads... ahem!) to live a good life, and that how your mother raised you (and how it's critized ALL day by said father) made you a GOOD person, while your father did nothing for that.

I've learned that the only person you can trust is the person in the mirror because your life long friend could be your worst enemy in just one minute over some stupid little arguement.Thats why you should only depend on yourself......
I've learned that it's absolutely necessary to trust people completely and fully, no matter how many times you get hurt. If you don't, life is simply not worth living. Period.
If you live life only for yourself, you've no reason to fear hell in the end. You're already there, I'm afraid. :)
Oh yeah, and my other big lesson is that "being yourself" is highly overrated.
You can't trust people ...........I've learned that lesson but like a fool I continue to do so. I guess i am naive like that.
The largest lesson I've learned is by doing the best you can and trying to be good, it can set you back a lot, and put you behind competion for anything, girls, jobs, etc. But thats pretty much secondary compared to the fact at least you go through with a clean concious and frankly. Be prepaired to be taken advantage of, or waiting a long time for anything.
So mix it with some common sense, a bit of initiative. And don't always put others first.

Things I've learned:
1) It's better to be a humble fool than an arrogant a**hole.
2) Fatherhood is similar to stardom though in the case of fatherhood it's easier to earn the title and difficult to regain it when you've neglected your responsibilities.
3) Nice guys do finish last.
4) The good die young while others reap the benefits.
I've learned others, but I don't remember them all.

Well trust in my mind, is gained rather than just given. There's an intial trust in which I have for stangers, and it can go either way from there. The world can be very cruel and greedy at times. Another example is if you know a forgetful person, then you wouldn't exactly trust a person to remember something for you ;)

Obviously, it's foolish to trust everyone, but trusting nobody at all is even more foolish.
Let me say this from my experiance most people don't show caring for their fellow human beings anymore. Most people I meet could careless what people do or what happens to them as long as it has nothing to do with them. But it's the world we live in and you have to learn to trust people to be who they are.....well that's what I try to believe anyway.

<-----miserable and pointless life!! keke
but let me give you a summery of how it is.
im one of the smartest people at my job yet my boss keeps coming up to me and saying that im the most qualified for a supervisor position that is open and he is trying to give me(as he says but store manager says he hasnt found anyone) yet its been over a yr that i have kept proving myself over and over and over for this position. he also has lied about many other things. so no trust there.
my friends will say they will do something yet they never do it. they will make up some lie(its pretty damn obvious) of why they couldn't be there or never called etc. i go out of my way for my friends why can't they do the same.
my family turned their backs on me when i was really young. so i have been dependant on only myself sense i was 14. got a job working for Sun Microsystems and Apple computer as volenteer work. had to drop out of school at 17 cause i couldn't live with my family anymore and pick up 2 full time jobs. still trying to make ends meet yet everytime i turn around someone else is turning their back.
son of a drunk, womanizer, child abuser dad who devorsed my ematic(sp?) depressant mom who won't come to pass that her current husband is a child molester. all 3 have said over and over never wanted a son for a child. brother of 3 sisters who dislike me cause i have tried to pull them away from the currupted family(it goes alot deeper).
i have a problem. its called being cautious. i don't put trust into people for the fact people don't give me a reason to. i tend to over analize everything in life and everything that happens to me. but i usually try to leave it all open to see what happens next. sometimes i jump the gun by picking the more efficiant and logical answer but i tend to be wrong sometimes. so with everything that people say to me from women saying "i love you" to friends saying "if you ever need anything or someone to talk to just ask" i question and tend not to believe. BUT i do look at the facts that are given at the time and don't give up. i play along hoping to believe which ends up being a failure.
oh great i rambled again hahaha. sorry :P. though i have never really shared expressed to anyone this side of my life so i got carried away ^_^. think i should go see a phsycologist(sp?)?
edit::: btw to mention. people who live life like i do is very sad to watch. very pointless that they keep living the way they do. but its not easy being this way and the people who give up on it are the people who have accomplished suicide. i have these thoughts but will probably never get there. im too curious on what will happen tomorrow. we just all wish we could start over again. a new life. where everything is wipped clean. as for instance i want to move to japan and live there. i believe i could start a new life there. *shrug* i will know no one so i think it would be good for me.

... no, but I'd get some new friends if I were you. I know I wouldn't tolerate people who lie to me all the time over trivial things. There are lots of dicks out there, but there are plenty of nice people too. You just have to sort of look around carefully. It's what I did, and it worked fine for me. Sure, you get hurt sometimes, but that's a good sign that you're actually living life. Enjoy yourself. :p
If you feel miserable, you've got to keep in mind that the people who turn their backs on you are just as lost and pathetic as you are. People who are really happy just don't do that; I've learned that from experience. It helps to put things in perspective.

as dumb as it sounds. i work nights. 9+ hours a night and sleep all day. don't really have time or money to go out and find friends around where i live. i used to be able to do it when i raved which got me more friends than i could keep up with but not being able to trust them takes the fun out of it. i have realized a while ago that trusting people is nessary to get you through life, like you said "......you get hurt sometimes, but that's a good sign that you're actually living life."
a few yrs ago i actually did that. when i first started raving. meeting new people from all over the world and i was careless. i was trusting everyone cause they all seemed like good people. got into a group of new friends who introduced me into my first love. from there it went all down hill. the friends started turning their backs on me and made my gf do some stupid things which i could never forgive her for so i broke it off in a blink of an eye. like i was turning off my tv without a care. never cried. thought about her though for over a yr. couldnt' get her out of my head. all the friends we shared judged me and turned their backs. but eh.
to get to the point from there on i haven't trusted a soul. i haven't even cared for a woman. most women i have gone out with just filled my sexual desire nothing more. i tried to like and trust them but couldn't no matter how hard i tried. all the friends i meet i tend to drive away if they get to close. *shrug* so i just deal with the fact i can't trust people no matter what i do.

Lessons from my life:
(I'm only 18 here, so it's a wee bit cynical)
1: Assume everyone you meet is an idiot untill proven otherwise.
(NOTE: this does not mean treat everyone like crap, just keep in mind that they aren't necessarily smart, wise, reliable, can understand what you're talking about)
2: When it comes to friends, quality beats quantity!
3: When you feel like you're being treated unfairly, say something!
4: If you have legitimate doubts, voice them.
5: If you have questions, ask them.
6: Be nice to people untill you're sure they don't deserve it at the very least.
7: Don't expect anyone to be nice to you, but be sure to reciprocate to those that are.
8: Make a nice first impression, it matters in the long run.
9: Nobody is irredeemable. (one of my best friends is someone who I used to loathe)

2) respect people, even if they dont u
3) never get mad or try to get avenge ... its negative energy for you, and it just strenghtens/bring enjoyment to your enemy. Instead get over it and go on with your life .... That will turn your enemy crazy, and they'll be the ones wondereing when your avenge will come, what it'll be,how worse it'll be, etc,etc :D

also, people are gonna be people and do what they want to, despite whatever positive/negative influence is applied.

9. Expect the unexpected

13. A friend can express his mind with you freely
14. Don't be hasty in making enemies, you never know when you might need their help

My biggest lesson is to avoid being shot. I say about 5 or 6 years ago, i was riding on my neice's bike *It was not a girly bike, OK* and was held up at gun point. The dude asked me to get off the bike before he pulled out the gun so the naturally thing for me to do was to get ready to kick his ass*he probably knew i would since i was at my strongest then* after i stepped off the bike he pulled out a gun and shot me in the leg and rode off with the bike.

What I have learned from life so far is that we allow corrupt enterprises like the federal reseve to exsist in our nation. I imagine most people here have no clue that the federal reserve is a private own bank that has the sole right to print coinage and money legally. Not only that they also force our government to buy bonds in order to produce more money which in fact puts the government in more debt. Sadly the people at the federal reserve control wether or not we go to war and wether or not we as a country are in a state of depression or a big boom economic wise. Sadly most of our LEADERS/government officals are paid off to be quiet about it and to do nothing about the corruption of this organization and internation organizations like it that control the way in which people live world wide. Even the way in which the federal reseve came into being is that the bill was sign into office in 1913 during the last day after all repesenative from the house had gone home and the ones still there claiming that nothing would be done till everyone got back from the christmas holiday season use the chance while the house was still technically in session to pass the bill for the federal reseve. So my issue is that a few corrupt men control the power to print our money. Pay funds to have hidious things happen nationally and internationally behind the scenes with their free reign of money. They also have the right to recall money already in circulation and if they want they can make it where they dont put a equal ammount of new amount of money as such back into the system to cause a depression in whole. The money lenders even have the power to control economic booms. At a moments notice they can give the word to stop big buisness loans and make buisnesses that they see fit to crash and go bankrupt. The scary thing is that men like this are only after contoling land/wealth and the human race as a whole by doing this. I hope thoses who are interested in this truthful statement would take the time to actually look up the facts in greater detail in their history books as going into detail would take far longer then these few paragraphs.

I`ve learned that you dont need to think in the perceptions or thoughts of other people because you only need to look forward not to your sides or your back.
i`ve learned that the hope is the most important thing in life because it gives you strengh to go forward, the hope illuminates your way and if you loose it you are death.
I`ve learned that you need to do things that make your life worth, because one of the worst things you could do is to have regrets and only when you realize that the bad feeling, thoughs, emotions would only cause you doubts and regrets you can trully make good decisions in your life.
does the things you do really mather does they make you really happy think about it... :) :) :)

One of the important lessons I learned is this:
try not to assume; there's always one aspect you have overlooked.
ri-chan
05-28-2005, 02:26 AM
I've learned that:
- people often judge you on your surrounding and/or looks. and that they can even hate you for that.
- people you have been at school with you for 8 years, can all just leave you to rot, within 2 months.
- leaving you to live in a village without having any friends there.
- not to trust anyone with your deepest secrets, everyone will know it the next (school)day
- Love can be just a cheap lye
- that mabey it is possible to make real friend again, if you try to (yes i have a comlex >.< )
- that you need a goal in your life, that gives you the will and strenght to live, whitout a goal, everything will get gloomy, and you will turn towards death.
- you don't need to be afraid of the "darkness" in your heart, there is "light" there to.
- you need something to hold on in your life. <-- in my case that would be manga/anime
yes, that sounds strange doesn't it? but it is true that those got me out of a depression (that started when all my "friends" left me)
just don't think I'm still all depressed and such, I'm pretty lively again :)
now that I have friends and a goal again, I have a positive look on tha world again.
that doesn't sound like someone that 16 years old, does it?
Serfius
05-30-2005, 10:08 PM
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is:
-There are forces at work in the world, of course we are not slaves to it and we can forge our own destinies...but there are some aspects of life that you can never take control of and/or foresee
(such a friend you've known for almost 3 years suddenly become a big asshole and you have no idea how it turned out that way...but you know you hate his guts...oh yeah that's for sure).
Another one is:
-Most people WILL look out for their own survival/pleasure/advancment...if given the choice they would abandon fairness/friends or any past moral code to embrace whatever pleasure they sought, if they knew they could get away with it, or if the pleasure (to them) is worth alot more than any flimsy wimsy goody two shoes code of morals they were taught to obey or once embraced.
WhiteMew
05-30-2005, 11:06 PM

Rudyard Kipling
If
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

The most basic thing i've learned is about death. It's simple but I've learned that there are different views on death. Most fear it because they want to live longer. Having so many words unsaid. Some because they're afraid of pain. Everyone alive has something dear to them. If theres nothing holding u back in this world then maybe death will have no meaning.

I learned that,
What you did has already happened. Learn from it and get over it.
Don't lie and if you must, don't lie yourself into your grave.
Your choices can have an affect on everybody, think just for a moment before doing something.
Believe it of not, you can't get everyting free by piracy.
Always take steps to cover your tracks, becaue there is always someone smart enough to follow them.
You are always watched.
Expanding your band of friends is easier said then done.
Same with changing your personality.
If you screw up, don't make such a big deal over it. You didn't change the course of history.
Don't EVER start trouble.

Wow.. that one was pretty good..
The thing is.. when I was young I always had things brought to me on a silver platter, or so to speak..
but now that I'm 19 I gotta work for everything I want.
So the things I learned are;
Take nothing for granted.
Nothing comes free, everything you want you have to work for.

Never ever think " Aww thats not going to happen to meh " Cus it will.
Enjoy your friends and family especialy the ones closest to you, you'll never know when your going to lose one or two of em.
Mind people who seem to nice or hang around you to much, they either love you or want something from you.
One word to much or to little can have lasting effects troughout your life, and leave you with a shit load of guilt.

If there is something that I have learned that helped me it would be that i'm not the saddest story out there. I used to milk the fact that my past is so "deadfully depressing" but now I know that i've been living a lie and there is no way I am worse off then some people i've met. I've learned that running around and screaming at the top of your lungs is...........not a good thing to do.
Lesse now, I've learned that sometimes it's good to act stupid and not know everything than to act like you know everything. If people THINK you don't know about it, then no harm would come to you........then you snicker and laugh at their face inside your mind
I've learned how to be really reaaally evil when i have to be......
I also learned and perfected my 'stare of death' technique to make people go away
"you can't have betrayal without friendship, if you don't want to be betrayed, then stay alone for he rest of your life" - I've also learned alot from that quote.....you can't expect a person to always be on your side
-also be careful who you piss off, you never know what they'll grow up to be.
I've also come to a realization that, hey, we are all going to die someday anywayz. So, why hold back on anything?
- "It's hard to choose how to live, but, everyone can choose how they can die" u can die crying and begging for mercy or fighting 'til the end...u can die alone or die surrounded with the love of your family and friends..
that's about it.

When things are ending its better to cut the loose ends. They're the things that will trip you up in the future.
When dealing with safety, "good enough" is not a acceptable standard.
Try now. Later you'll have to work harder just to catch up with the ones who did.
and finally.
To (mis)quote Pratchett.

That if you live to tell about a suicide, you probably didn't do a very good job (not coming from personal experience)

Ummm...there is one lesson I learned a while ago...from an interesting experience with a stupid photographer. So, if you are getting your picture taken, and the photographer keeps telling you to move in closer to a candle next to you, and if you have on a dress with puffy sleeves on it, tell him NO. Otherwise, your sleeve will catch on fire, you will have to put the flames out with your hand, and you will have a burnt dress and a burnt hand. :(

I learnt that you can easily trust guys in your life, they may seem friendly at first, but to be honest, they are only after one thing... you body... they want to get you drunk and then ....

Hmmm, probably the most important thing I've learned so far, is that there's always a reason for everything. The problems and obstacles we encounter in our journey through life are ONLY bumps and potholes on the way to our dreams and aspirations. Nothing is ever wasted... we learn, we grow, and we succeed.

The advice I can give is that there ARE more things on Heaven and Earth that are dreampt of in your philosophy...and those who do not believe in the supernatural are doomed to eternal damnation......
If you want a funnier advice.......People are stupid. End of story ^_^

The nicer you are, the more people want to talk trash about you, bother you, or make fun of you.
Higher education.. ESPECIALLY a degree will open up more options and paths in life.

never giving up... thats one of the biggest i've learned so far
copyed n pasted from regret thread:
wow we r quite similar.....i too want to break into the comic industry. growing up i had alway's loved to draw. drawing has always been my fondest pastime. however during college my parents wanted me to become a computer sience major(the power and influence of asian parents, i guess). i gave cs a shot, hoping i would eventually develop a liking for it but i never did. i had wasted many semesters pursuing something i really had no desire for. after many wasted semesters i had secretly dropped the major to pursue another more suited to my tastes, one in the field of art/illustration and design. it was not until recently that i had finally told my parents that i had given up cs, needless to say they weren't too pleased. i regret not having made the switch a lot earlier.
from what i posted earlier, one of the biggest lessons i've learned in life is.....if u feel strongly or passionate about something don't be afraid to speak out about it. cuz if u don't u just may regret it later.
