FFVIII problem

i have this problem in FFVIII my party sucks at damaging, i have a level 70 squall with the lion heart that does a 950 damage only. and the other charecters range from level 21-65 do 70-550 damage only and i have all of thier ultimate weapons and the best spells like ultima, pain, meteor ..etc

can someone tell me why is it like that?

junction 99 ultima to attack stat. this way you get a very nice boost in attack power.

Also junctioning while leveling up affects your base stats, so you have to keep in mind which GF you use( if you want a party with high stats)

i just junctioned 100 ultimas to each one ofthem and it worked but the attack only reached 3050 is there a way to boost it to a 9999?
and i just boosted their health to 9999 thanks to the 600 auras i collected from the two hell and heaven islands

and by what to junction while leveling up means to keep the same old GFs with new ones for better stats like lemental and such right?

ur damage can't never up to 9999, cause the enemy will always has the same level as you, and for stats junction every GF is the same

some boost your HP when leveling up others your mp, I found it out too late when squall was already level100. selphie and rinoa(leveled them last with junction managment) have more base hp than squall now, averaging about 3000hp in difference.

i never bother to junction HP boost when lvl up, save it for stats boost (especially Squall with Strenght boost - lot of damage :D ) then get HP +50% in a ability slot, i only need it when fight Omega Weapon cause it speacial attack (9998 damage), in fact all of its attack too annoying :p

i had the same problem in ff9, during the monster hunt.

Its almost the same thing but in FF8 the monsters level up with you....So your never above the monsters unless you use thornberry king's lvl down abilty....also the damage thing I never ran in to that problem....I never really got the whole juntion thing right....I'm kinda bad at it. But really work on Strenth for Squall and use Auras so that you can pull of lots of Limit breaks...and maybe you can pull off Lionhear...(Best Limit break ever!)

Also on a side note...It is possible to go over 9999 but only GF are able too.....Look for Eden it will save your butt many times.....

i see so you can never go up to 9999 even with a 174 ST and 100 ultimas. right now im going for tonberryking,bahamut and eden.

the catur king was EASY i never thought it would be easy like that.

what about the other GF's are they easier or harder than cactur king?

for a 50% chance of getting lionheart, only upgrade to the final lionheart.

I had a harder time going against marlboros than against those red dragons. Although I do love to hunt down red dragons and try to eat them.

meltdown or doomtrain are nice to use for every battle.

If you want to do 9999 damage just do the whole "don't level till you get king cactur and all the level up stat boost skills" trick. My Squall was strong enough that using the darkside skill was pointless and Zell could kill pretty much any boss from just one limit break.

Zell with his limitbreak is powerful enough, just tap up down constantly.

who said Darkside is useless ?
my party has Squall with Darkside, the others has Treatment and Revive, the last memeber has Recover and in fact that i haven't to summon a single GF in the whole game just using these command, without using spell except when fighting Diablo and Omega weapon.
and my friend was able to ditch a lot of damage with Zell limit, the easiest way is just use only 2 combos from the beginning (don't remember :p)

I think the equation went like this: zell abuse twohit combo over and over damage is 1/4 *(lionheart #hits times 9999)

Just want the damage to 9999. Use Meltdown and with Str 255 you will get 9999 damage. For over 9999 damage not only GF can do ( Cactuar Lv100 do 10000 damage, Eden can do 60000+ damage with use Boost to 255), remember Quistis Limit : Shockware Pulse (don't remember exactly name). You can learn it by Dark Matter Item (get by Chocobo if you play in PC) or have 100 Curse Spike and use 1 GF ability I don't remember name to make Item from other Item to create ( Get Curse Spike by card mod Tri-face Card, or Mug and Card Tri-face in the Island Closest to Heaven, or fight Malboro something you can have it).
BTW use GF is suck in this game too weak. And I fight with LV 17-18 till I can get to Island closest to Heaven and nothing to worry can get all my status to 255( of course except Eva and Speed) and Health to 9999 with Bonus Status. I can say this game so easy just spend 2 hour play Card in the first beginning of the game and 1 hour to get AP enought to have Card-Mod and Enc-None and don't even need to Junction Triple from Quistis Card( I don't card mod any Lv8,9,10 Card) I still too strong with Tornado equip to Str, Regen to HP, Pain to Mag, Meltdown to Vit and can kill the Giant Robot Crab, don't need to run from it and have the Item to learn X-Ray for Quitis. So I have my Squall always in low Health to use Limit Break and from disk1 to till the end of Disk 3 (before go to the Hell Island to LV up) no boss can stand one Limit Break of Squall lolz.

i never really used zell, instead i used irvine and rinoa. irvines limit was great, i loved shooting those bullets, esp. the best ones. anyway, once you got the junction system down, the game was easy, and fun

I like party with Zell, Squall and Irvine. I think FF8 is not good when the girl is so weak compare with boy. Because of the Junction so the diffirent between them is only Limit Break. And Selphie's Limit Break is worst noone like to use (even she have The End but any1 want to spend 30' press to see this ...), Rinoa is better with Shooting Star and Invicible Moon but do you think 9/10 Limit Break of Rinoa will Angelo Canon ( I don't learn Angelo Strike to increase chance have speacial Limit) and Angel Wing is worst she berserk and with Omega Weapon and Utilmecia use it = increase HP for enemy lol , Quistis is good but her limit only do max 9999 damage (excep the Shockwave Pulse do 20000-30000 but still too bad compare to boy). BTW if you play FF8 on PC you can have the trainer let's you always have Lion Heart, Shooting Star Limit and have Appolicase and The End in your magic (you can use Art Money to get this magic easy by modify value any magic in memory )

i just got zell them to reach a 255 STR and squall to 247 ST with the ST bonus from cactur and ifrit plus the STR+40% to raise it
and where is the best place to get the STR plus item that raises your STR by 1 each time you use it for squall?

the junctionig system is awsome why do of people hate it?

rinoa wasnt the best character, but i just used her for healing, so in every tough battle, she just healed. the other two fought

The girls aren't that bad...but the best is Selphie...if you know what she can do you can kill just about any monster with almost no problems....You all know what I'm talking about...*The End*

ok i stoped playing FFVIII (cause i didn have the time to play games) and now im playing it again afer 5 months. ive reached disk 4 and i have the Research lab and odins place open is it possible to get Eden and Tornbery king? cause i didnt have sirens move find ability and now i found it in ultimicias castle therfore i can find the save point near ultima weapon

BTW, if you still want combat advice, here's what worked for me. Hit the boss with a Meltdown spell, then Haste and Aura Squall. You'll get to use his Limit Break constantly, and because it's a mutliple hit attack you'll do far more than 9999 damage.

im just asking if its possible to gain eden and tornbery king in disk 4 cause their areas are open and they dont have a barrier on them.
and in the guides it says that its not possible to get them in disk 4

I think you can get to fight King Tonberry and obtain Tonberry in disc 1~3 only. Disc 4 is just the boss fight... Same with Eden... So, your only way to get those GF's is by loading back to your save where you're still in Disc 3.... or use Gameshark, but that takes the fun out of it.. >_>;
For me, I just pump Zell's Phy. Attack and speed to 255 and always keep Zell to the lowest HP possible and bam everything in Zell's sight with his combo moves... My best record is 40 combo in 9 sec. =) It's fun to use Zell, although his attack doesn't do 9999 damage... but the quantity beats Loin Heart... with enough training.... >_>; Have fun with Zell >: )

OH! and to pump up Zell's attack, just Juntion Diablo GF to Zell, and clip 100X Ultima in Phy attack and 100X Triple in speed.. =)

bwahahahah i just got tornbery from disk 4 without any gameshaks or codes and i can get eden as well i just got out the castle found my ship and flew there.

and i did those things to the parties 5 months ago (see the thread date) but i stoped playing the game at disk 4 and i was wondering if i could obtain the final GF and its possible.

i think some of the GF's can be drawn from bosses in ultimecia's castle. I haven't played this game for a long time, but i do remember the last battle! I didn't like rapidly pressing the X button for boost (i was good at it though.) It took away from enjoying the summon scenes.

actually, it think it was the square button...anyway, got eden in disc three...the laguna card makes one too overpowered...and always remember to cast meltdown...

actually the best female chr is quistis (spelling)

all u have to do is get her black hole limit break which will kill all non boss enemies with 100% success rate

altho it does make the game too easy but comes in handy for the malboro tentacles
